Hemi badge gets bigger

Windsor, Ontario – The Chrysler Group is building a “bigger, better” Hemi badge. On its Chrysler 300C, Dodge Magnum and Jeep Grand Cherokee, the badge will increase by 145 per cent in size; for Dodge Ram and Dodge Durango, it will increase 136 per cent.

“The Hemi V8 engine bodes extremely well with Canadian consumers, as evidenced by a 44 per cent take-rate in Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles where it is offered,” said Mike Accavitti, Vice President Marketing, DaimlerChrysler Canada. “For many customers, the word Hemi triggers an instant association with the ultimate in terms of raw engine power.”

The Chrysler Group reports that customers chose Hemi engines at a take-rate of 53 per cent in Dodge Durango; 48 per cent in Dodge Ram 1500; 46 per cent in Dodge Magnum; 13 per cent in Dodge Ram 2500/3500; 19 per cent in Jeep Grand Cherokee; and 41 per cent in the Chrysler 300.
