Goodyear Tire reduces production due to hurricane

Akron, Ohio – The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has implemented temporary production reductions at its North American facilities, due to disruption of raw material supplies resulting from the effects of Hurricane Rita in Texas and Louisiana.

Currently, all of Goodyear’s North American plants are operating, although tire production has been reduced by approximately 30 per cent. Goodyear expects to increase production as the raw material disruption eases in the coming weeks.
