Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2007 to take place April 21st on Lake Como

Munich, Germany – The most traditional of all beauty contests for classic automobiles and contemporary concept cars – the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este – takes place on April 21 and 22 in Cernobbio on Lake Como, Italy.

In addition to numerous exceptional classics, a range of forward-looking concept cars and prototypes will contribute to this colourful gathering against the picturesque backdrop of the aristocratic Grand Hotel Villa d’Este. This is the image reproduced on the official event poster for 2007, designed by Italian artist Enzo Naso. Taking his inspiration from last year’s winning cars, the Ferrari 410 Super America Coupe of 1959 and the Alfa Romeo 8C Spider concept car, Naso has designed a poster that juxtaposes black-and-white and colour drawings to highlight the appeal of the Concorso under its motto “Classic meets modern”.

Year after year, fans of dream cars from the past and design aficionados alike relish the display of four-wheeled gems when the international jury presents such coveted prizes as the Coppa d’Oro Villa d’Este, the Trofeo BMW Group and the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este Design Award. 2007 sees the ninth successive staging of the event under the patronage of the BMW Group.
