Auburn Hills, Michigan – The Chrysler Group has officially launched production of the all-new 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab at its Saltillo Assembly Plant in Coahuila, Mexico. The plant currently produces the Dodge Ram Mega Cab, Dodge Ram Power Wagon and Dodge Ram Heavy-Duty 2500 and 3500 models, and will take on production of the new Chassis Cab using Flexible Manufacturing Strategy.

DaimlerChrysler recently invested an additional US$48 million into the plant to expand the facility and allow for production of the Chassis Cab, following a US$210 million investment for production of the Mega Cab in 2005. The expansion allows the plant to produce commercial vehicles and will accommodate new frame configurations. The Saltillo plant employs 2,100 workers in two shifts, and is one of five Chrysler Group production facilities in Mexico.
