LONDON, Ont. – CarProof Vehicle History Reports, Canada’s most trusted vehicle history report provider, announced today the release of their free 2013 Used Car Buying Guide to help consumers buy a used car with full peace of mind.

Buying a used car can be a stressful experience, as evidenced by a study that CarProof commissioned last year by BlueGuru Consulting, a market research firm based in Toronto. The research project looked at the consumer experience throughout the used car buying process and found that 60 per cent of shoppers experience negative emotions when it comes to negotiating a price and 51 per cent of people feel confused or helpless about setting a budget. Sixty-nine per cent of respondents said they feel less than confident when assessing that a used car is in good shape.

In order to help ease this used car buying anxiety, CarProof put together a Used Car Buying Guide that consumers can download for free to learn the right questions to ask a seller, what to look for on a test drive, how to negotiate a great price, ways to finalize a private used car sale and much more. When this guide is paired with a CarProof vehicle history report, consumers can feel confident that they know what to look for in a used car and they can trust that they know the full details of the vehicle’s past, including any accidents that may have occurred, registration details, odometer records and more.
