Audi and Volkswagen premiere models in Vancouver

Ajax, Ontario – Audi Canada has premiered its 2007 S6 at the Vancouver International Auto Show; the model features a newly-developed 5.2-litre V10 engine with FSI direct-injection technology that produces 435 hp and 397 lb-ft of torque, with a zero to 100 km/h time of 5.1 seconds. The S6 will be available in Canada this Fall.

Volkswagen’s regional premieres include the 2007 GTI, the all-new Passat wagon, and the Eos convertible coupe. A special edition Jetta R-GT built by HPA Motorsports in Surrey, British Columbia is also featured at the company’s display; the one-off model, shown last Fall at the SEMA aftermarket show in Las Vegas, features a twin-turbo 3.2-litre V6 that produces 500 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque, and is mated to Volkswagen’s dual-clutch, six-speed DSG transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive system.
