The other day, Chevrolet released images of the facelifted 2016 Silverado. The updated Silverado has been met with an interesting mix of praise and criticism, so let’s see how its sibling, the Sierra fares.

While Chevrolet only released images of the Silverado in Z71 trim, GMC has gone all out and released images of the Sierra in SLT, Denali and All Terrain trim levels.

While the Silverado looks more toned down and modern with minimal chrome, the Sierra looks more aggressive and is not afraid to show off its chrome, much like the new F-150 from Ford.

The front end of the Sierra is dominated by the large chrome grille (for the SLT and Denali versions), flanked by restyled LED headlights, with C-shaped running lights framing them, also LED units. The LED foglights tuck into the lower half of the bumper and add to the Sierra’s more modern look.

While the SLT and Denali trims have the chrome going in, the All Terrain version looks more like its Silverado Z71 sibling with its colour-matched bumper and grille.

No further details have been released beyond the confirmation of Apple CarPlay via the interior photos. We’ll just have to wait and see.

What do you all think of the Sierra compared with the Silverado?
