2006 Honda Accord gets face-lift

All 2006 Honda Accord sedans and coupes receive a styling face-lift, interior changes, some new features and a new 6-speed manual transmission available on top-of-the-line Accord sedans.

Freshened exterior elements on all Accord’s include new front and rear styling with new bumper fascias, front grille, trunk lid design with integrated LED brake lamp and LED taillights. Sedans have restyled rear fenders to accommodate the newly styled LED taillights.

Interior improvements include a new steering wheel, new seat fabrics, new automatic transmission shift knob (if equipped with automatic transmission) and a restyled gauge cluster. All Accords have a new rear window tray (since the third brake light is relocated to the trunk lid) as well as a front passenger seat belt reminder.

The V6 engine’s horsepower is increased to 244 hp (+4 hp) and the 4-cylinder engine’s horsepower is increased to 166 hp (+6HP). Horsepower gains were achieved with improvements to the airflow of the intake and exhaust systems.

All V6 Accords now include standard Vehicle Stability Assist, and for the first time, the Accord EX V6 Sedan is available with a 6-speed manual transmission.
