How many K's you think you will get out of the rear tires?

Not sure. 200 tread wear and I do drive fairly aggressively. They'll probably be close 10,000-12,000

That's not bad IMO!

I had an equivalent type of tire on a 320lb motorcycle and I wrecked it in 1500kms!
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Driving home from the mountains I saw a ZL-1 1LE on the highway.  Black with BC plates - no front plate!  The second one I've seen.  The Miata shook a bit when it went by - damn.

Weird that the Miata got passed.

I heard they were faster than anything.   ;D

Nice. I’ve never even seen a standard ZL1 on the road.

Co-worker has a ragtop version.

I'm guessing he bought the ragtop so he could actually see out the car.   ;) ;D

Also...sold his Grand National to help finance the purchase.

The 1LE canards and wing are awesome.  Overall, the car doesn't have that much more "road presence" than the SS 1LE, but for those "in the know" it's a mean looking sumbitch.

Lol

I’m sure it’s awesome but I’m a ragtop = cruiser kinda guy.

Well it is a street car after all.... ;D

Also doesn't some with all the nannies the coupe comes with apparently (no eLSD, PTM, etc).  Weird that this "cruiser" is more "pure" than the coupe in that regard.

I LOVE open cars, and NO WAY I'd buy a high performance Camaro in a drop-top.  The coupe is just "right."  I'd buy a Boxster instead for a roofless machine.

I do see the appeal though.  650HP and a tidal wave of torque+the angry V8 bellow in a ragtop.

I get it even if it's not for me.

Oh, yeah, I get it too, and like you, just not for me.  And I'm actually surprised at how great the blown big V-8 sounds - the Z-06 and the ZL-1 are fantastic noise makers.  Supercharged engines often have too much whine and can have an odd exhaust note, but damn, GM got it right.  I also think they went the right way with a supe instead of a turbo.  That RIGHT F'ING NOW torque must be glorious.

For sure. It’s still awesome I’m sure.

Again. I’m just a SL55 = droptop kinda guy.

I was going to say, this car reminds a bit of a German offering.  Big car+Massive V8.

Agreed.

Rocket I don’t think it’s true about no eldsand ptm I’m the drop top.

If I was going American muscle and wanted sunny skies I still like the targa roof on the vette

"Unfortunately, it does come at a cost. Not only does the ZL1 convertible start $6,000 USD higher (at just under $70,000 USD), but the convertible hardware also interferes with the eLSD electronically controlled differential. Therefore, the ZL1 convertible gets a simple mechanical limited-slip instead. This means you’ll also have to do without Chevrolet’s excellent Performance Traction Management (PTM) track program. "

Read about it in the forums too.

I think the coupes would be more likely to see track and other "way out there" use anyway.

Yes..maybe a couple percent of them.   ;D

Certainly not needed for even general hooning on the street IMO.

I really enjoy the PTM on the street. Saved my stupid ass a couple of times. I pulled over .9 gs on the way to work this morning on coldish tires lol. God forbid some swerver goes through that roundabout before me!  :P

But I'm guessing that if you didn't have PTM, you'd be driving slightly differently knowing there's no nannies to bail you out.

Or maybe not!   :rofl2:

.. if you have heat in the tires you almost can’t see the limit on the street unless you mash the throttle mid-turn.

Yea, that's what I was getting it.  The limits of the car is so high, that on the street PTM isn't really needed.
