Wiper blades - your favourite...
« on: December 15, 2015, 07:59:36 pm »
Hey folks,

The Subby has really noisy blades.. still ok for streaking, but the noise is annoying...

Want to get quality blades;  what would you recommend? How are the Reflex blades at CTC?

The Michelin Stealth blades at Costco are great.
About $20 for a pair.

Thanks... think I tried Costco blades years ago but they weren't the Stealth series... think they were decent... will give em a shot!

Seems like its hard to find blades that don't fart, especially when it's raining lightly

OEM blades work the best for me with the best fit. They're also cheap if you buy refills for the original blades.

BMW does not make refills for my wipers, so they're $90 for a pair.  ::) ::)

Weels, do the Costco ones fit your windshield properly? I might buy a set to try, and I'll return them if I don't like 'em.

It's a German car.  That means you must put Bosch wipers on it!!

My parents had Bosch blades on their old Accord. Meh. Then again, it wasn't a FGC.

My blades right now are HORRIBLE. They chatter like crazy and leave streaks even after I cleaned them. I'm pretty sure they're the original blades.

Michelin Costco blades are tough to beat.  I don't think they last very long though.  But excellent bang for the buck.

Yep.  Bought a set for the Crosstrek about this time last year.  Worked great all last winter and fine in the rain.
I will replace them soon though as they are starting to go.

Yeah they are very cheap.

I've heard PIAA Silicone blades are top notch.

Anything will do!

If you want to take it a step further, skip the wax and throw on some Rain-X.  The rain will slide right off and if you need to actually use your wipers, the surface will be very slick and shouldn't squeak.

Wow...no way I'm paying that kind of cheddar for a windshield wiper.

The PIAA Costco list does not include the Q5.

I found the OEM from the dealer seem to be the same as the Bosch blades ( which crappy tire doesn't sell the Q5 ones) and a dollar cheaper.   They work ok.

What's special about the Q5?  FGC..can't even buy off the rack wipers?  What a joke!

The Honda wiper inserts for my TSX worked so well, lasted at least 1 year, and were $7 a piece.

I miss that car.
