I think the 200, especially in the AWD S trim, is a looker, and you can get high end features such as HIDs and ventilated seats, along with AWD and a strong V6 for under $40,000. I can definitely see what people see in them, my hope is that they hold up long term. Based on some of the initial quality results that favorites of mine such as the Grand Cherokee are getting, I would be somewhat leery about purchasing such a teched out Chrysler.
Meh. Lease it for 4 years and enjoy it while it's under warranty. I liken this car to cars such as Land Rovers and BMW's. Great fun when they're working, too much of a PITA to deal with outside of warranty. Therefore they're lease cars only.
Too bad Chrysler doesn't do leases.
Leasing potentially unreliable cars is a great way to not be on the hook for it, but its still a huge pain having an unreliable car.
As you guys may know, my 14 Verano Turbo MT has been a huge lemon, stranding us out of town, multiple no starts and dealer trips, thousands in replacement parts. Granted none of that cost me any actual money, it has taken hours of my time, ruined 3 trips into the mountains, and I'm always worried about "whats next". Just this morning, it spewed a bunch of coolant and was steaming at idle. I'll probably be in another rental for another few days. I've spent 3 months in rentals in the 18 months I have had the car! It is leased, and I was originally going to buy out the car, (I leased because they were only giving 0% on leases at the time,) so it was just a differently shaped finance package at the time. Now, I am actually grateful that I can give this lemon back rather than have to try and sell it, and I got GM to extend the comprehensive warranty until lease end... but like I said, its not very trustworthy, and its our only car suitable for road trips, and now its acting up again.
TL: DR I havent paid out of pocket for my myriad issues, but so much lost time, and lost trust in the car.
