Stuff I see.
« on: May 30, 2015, 11:23:59 pm »
Thought I would start a thread with stuff I see in our shop. Here is a Wrangler with less than 5000km on this clutch.  :o
Enjoying the Alberta advantage

Transfer case explosion. Customer claims all he heard was a 'pop'.

An old XJ Cherokee towed in for a 'no start'.  Quick check finds that the starter had been removed. :o

Hub caps that are the exact same design as your wheels. Why would anyone put these on? ???

Great thread idea.  Reminds me of Cord's believe it or not, but on the mechanical end of things rather than sales.  Keep them coming.  The last one made me chuckle.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

How do you do that to a clutch in 5000 km!? Wow! Left Foot Lucy? Or Leonard, for you easily-offended types. My apologies to Lucy's and Leonard's everywhere.  And those brakes...I don't even know what I'm left looking at there. I see a caliper...and a pretty little ring of some sort.  :fall:

Awesome thread.  You should also include pics of what those broken things are supposed to look like.  I know how rotors should look, though - that pic is scary.   :o

Well, transfer cases should not have big holes in them.  That much I DO know...

This is a picture of a bell housing from a Wrangler. Torque convertor is removed and you can see mud back that was behind it. As most of you know, this is a very well protected area and not a place you would expect to see mud. When the breather tube was removed from the transmission, water poured out. Jeep had less than 10,000km and customer wanted warranty. He did not get it.

Wow, you'd have to work pretty hard to do that!  Impressive!  I'm supposing serious winching was involved.

and these guys will come on here with "their side" of the story and most will bash the "stealership" for not giving warranty on a vehicle advertised as an off-road focused ride!!

yeah, we get it all the time as well... mind if I ever add a few shots of those crazies that come in our place?
