WeatherTech Vs Husky Liners
« on: September 08, 2014, 11:29:34 am »
So I want some good quality mats.

I've read about both and seen WeatherTech mats.
but Husky Liners are pretty half the price.  Are they really as good?

Check these out.  For the price, apparently they are pretty good if they have them to fit your vehicle.

For your RAV4?

Findways. A few of my friends have them and they've held up pretty well so far. I have Weathertechs myself but I may sell them and get the Findways as I really like how they look like carpet, even though it's not carpet and is still very much an easy to clean all weather mat. Looks much more inviting than plain rubber/plastic.

Here's one for your 2014 RAV4, $80 CAD. $15 shipping within Canada or free if you can pick it up from their Markham location.

I've had both. The Husky Liners in our old XTerra were awesome, but the front ones for our Suburban didn't fit so well. They curled around the edges and were always sliding around, so I finally replaced them with WeatherTechs (just the front ones. Still have Husky Liners in the rear seats and cargo area and they're going strong after 7 years).

No doubt the WeatherTechs are great (I've got them in the GTI, too) but I think the Huskys are also a solid choice.

Dude finally made up his mind and bought a Tacoma.

For a truck, I like the diamond plate pattern of the Huskys. (And it looks like those carpeted ones aren't made for the Tacoma)

yup.

for the Taco.  Sadly it looks like Findways doesn't make them for a Tacoma.

I was going to get WeatherTech but priced out the Husky Liners at $100 cheaper!!!!
wondering if WeatherTechs are really worth the extra $

I've also used both...I have W-Techs in the Ridgeline and Huskys in the Sierra at the moment. W-Techs are better as noted above (less curling, stay in place a little better and are...blacker so they look/feel a little nicer). But I also recommend the Husky mats, I've never had a problem with fit and they last forever – you can literally pick them up and pour tracked-in water out and have dry carpets. Comes down to how you feel about that hundred bucks.

The poor use of the English language on the Findways website makes me want to give my money to someone else.

i have weathertechs in my Rio5 (from the Kia dealer, and have both the Kia logo and the WT logo on them)...they aren't cheap, but are very good...i find regular mats suck...the "fitted" ones (that are designed specifically for your vehicle) are always well worth the extra cost.

well if WeatherTech are the best, I have no problem blowing the extra $100
if they're pretty much even... I can use that $100 for something else.  (a tank of gas maybe LOL)

sounds like WeatherTech is slightly better (less curling comments)

We have Husky liners in my GMC and in the wife's Wrangler. My dad just got some Weathertechs for his avalanche, between the two, I would go with Weathertechs, they fit much better....I am just cheap  ;D

there's a local truck place called Truck Toppers.
(hey i just realized it's a bit of a chain and there's a place in Calgary, Fob, you know anything about this place?)

anyways, their website states Husky Liners are not 100% custom fit.
WeatherTech are.

that's it... WeatherTech wins.

We sprung for the WeatherTech's, including the hatch floor liner.  All of it fits 100% perfect.
I've never seen the Husky's, but the WT's appear to be worth their admittedly lofty pricetag.

I have husky liners on the Focus - the reason being it covered the dead pedal, whereas the weathertech didn't

Had WeatherTech liners in the CLK and they were wearing out rather quickly where my right heel stood. I mean hell I only had the car for 18 months...

The OEM Acura and MB stuff are holding up very well.

(talking about the all season rubber mats in both cases)

EDIT: now, that said, for some stupid reason the OEM mats on the GLK don't cover the dead pedal. Neither does the Weathertech. Making Findway suddenly enticing...at least for that one mat.

Same here. They gave me a new set for free but the same spot is wearing out and I don't drive much.

I have WeatherTech's in the Forester, and Huskey liners in the Mazda. Both are an excellent fit. The wt's in the Forester are 5 years old and show no signs of wear. But, I think the Huskey's provide a bit better coverage. They go up higher behind the pedals than the wt's. For the same price as front and rear wt's, I got front, rear, and the trunk liner from Huskey. Got them from autoanything.com.

just as I was set to go WT - i decided to print out an imagine of both WT and HL mats side by side.
it looks like the specific mats for the Tacoma, Husky Liners cover a little more area (foot rest) over the WT.

I'm going to check out a local place Saturday to see what they have in stock and price.
