Pinarello Dogma F10. I'll have the stealth black one, please. Or maybe it's the red one...

I test rode one of these the other day, a Focus Cayo Ultegra Di2. It was a very short ride, but as soon as I sat on the bike I felt at home. The geometry seemed just right. The frame is noticeably stiffer than my current bike, which is what I'm primarily looking for, yet at the same time it felt comfortable. And of course, Di2 would be nice to have, though I haven't really fallen for it so far. At 30% off, the Cayo is another tempting deal. Decisions, decisions...

I finally pulled the trigger on the Cayo Ultegra Di2 2016 model. Nearly 50% off the identical 2017 model, I just couldn't resist it anymore. Will be a long wait for the beginning of the road riding season.

:thumbup::thumbup:

That is a very nice ride and will be a very, very, very long wait until road season.

On a side note. All the roads just cleared up from snow due to the warmer weather we had for the last two weeks. Today, it snowed all day long and we are basically starting over again. Yes it is going to be a long wait. Sigh.

The Kona Raijin Ti frame alone is listed at $2,999. I started a build spreadsheet duplicating his, I stopped at around $5,700 before taxes/shipping and began to wonder how I was going to get permission for this one.  :rofl2:  SWMBO let me get that Felt York last year, the year before it was the State Bicycle Black Label and the year before that my Giant Escape...

It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.  ;D

IF I ever bought a TI bike I always thought I would visit True North Cycles first and just get a custom built bike. Once you crack the 5K price I think it is well worth it. Plus he build awesome looking bikes. Check him out on FB.

The bike/coffee shop we always ride to has last years BMC SLR01 with full DuraAce on sale. Was $10K now only $7K. This would be a great upgrade from my current BMC SLX01 that I've been riding for many years.

Didn't you just buy a new bike last year?

What is up with that bottom bracket area? Aero? E-juice?

Last year it was for my wife. Now that I've tried the Di2 and disc brakes I want these too! :)

They are probably sold out anyway.. What you see just above the bottom bracket is storage for spare tube, multi tool, etc. The suspension in the head tube and the movement allowed by the seat tube are impressive. Will certainly seek a test ride. $11K...

Right, I remember now.

Neat idea for the storage.  They are really making road frames more comfortable lately.  Hope you can get out and test one, would be interested in hearing your thoughts.

I've been watching videos on e-trikes. Something like this sounds awesome to me.

https://outriderusa.com/products/alpha

You can configure it for up to 200 MILES of range.

So a couple of weeks ago I accidentally damaged my Focus Cayo with the result that it was totaled. After some back and forth with my insurance company we settled on a deal and I started the hunt for a new bike. After spending countless hours trawling the internet for owners' opinions, reviews, experiences and deals, I finally pulled the trigger on a BMC Teammachine SLR01 Ultegra MY 2016 like the one in the picture below. Now I'll have to face the agonizing wait for a week or two before I take delivery. Excited to join quadzilla in the BMC squad!

Amazing how I can like you and hate you at the same time.  ;D

Congrats on such a great bike. Can't wait to hear some thought about it after you get some good miles in with it.

The SLR01 DuraAce is still for sale at the bike/coffee shop we ride to. And just today I stopped at another bike shop in a small town and they have a used Kona Rove Ti (disc) built up with DA for $3K.  I resisted the temptation to ride it. Been wanting a Ti bike for longer fun and gravel rides.

Thanks! :) I was pretty bummed when it happened as it was just one of those little unfortunate things - I was about to wash the bike and had it leaning to the workshop stand that I use for washing and it just fell on its side the ground while I turned my back for a moment. The top tube hit the leg of the stand, which is an oval tube, and the hit was enough to crack the carbon top tube of the bike and that was it.

Man that is definitely no-fun, I read about carbon being brittle but was hoping it wasn't true  :-\
Perhaps I don't need that Giant XTC ADV+SS I posted up above...
