Cue Wing to remind me to pick up Fluff.

Fluff reminds me of this '80s movie  "The Stuff"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZRdPNlLG4s

Tasty
How about Fluff and Stuff.  One of these items is important to wing, the other one is important to me.  Guess which is which?  Fluff?!!  Gack.

That is the goal. Besides, if I'm not there, how are you going to get your Fluff?

What's the track setup like? Are there often spectators? I'd be interested in observing, but I won't be lapping the Odyssey  :rofl2:

Not too many spectators for lapping events but you can see a bunch of corners from different vantage points.  Lapping days have the advantage that you can get rides around the track.

Big race weekend may 29/30/31 will have lots of spectators.

Hmmmmm... rides you say? Including the new racecar  ;D ?

That sounds interesting. I'll see if I can make it one of the race weekend days. Are you racing then?

Wrong turbo. Turns out that the place I ordered it from wasn't absolutely sure if was going to fit in the first place! Thanks. Ordered new one which is being overnighted. Might have it tomorrow AM and to my mechanic by noon. Sigh.

Not even close!  By the way, you can see the broken impeller in a couple of these shots!

Brutal...looks like they were only interested in a sale and not supplying the correct turbo...fail.

I warned him that there are MANY iterations of the K04 and he had to be absolutely sure he knew precisely which one he wanted because of the housing differences.  And this is why.

If by "him" you mean me, then absolutely yes we had that conversation and I very much appreciate your advice.  However, you have to trust the vendor when, after collecting your engine code, VIN, car model, etc., they tell you that the turbo will fit no issues.  The only thing they warned me was that the inlet pipe was 5 mm shorter.  I'm not a cynic by nature, but I feel they were interested in my money and they hid the fact that they weren't sure of the fitment.  So fail it is.

It's more Audis "german engineering".  You can have the same engine in the same platform...different K04.  It's silly, really.  Which is why I gave the warning.  And as you know, I'm pretty up to snuff on this stuff..and even I'm confused by exactly which K04 goes with which car.

They're sending you another one though?  Or was the one they sent you the only they have in stock? If that's the case, then I'd agree they were only after your money.

Only one they had apparently.  So I will have to return it to them.  The vendor that sold me the one that I pick up tomorrow is Turbocharger Pros. I think they were also on that list you gave me.  I got the upgraded unit with the 2 year unlimited mileage warranty: http://www.turbochargerpros.com/addtocart/2001_Audi/TT/Turbocharger/40-30009.html#

The guy even knocked $80 off the price (now $415US) and sent it overnight shipping to Ogdensburg NY.
