The Grill Grate cover rrocket pointed me too really revolutionized how I barbecue. We do a lot of vegetables on it and I'd forgotten how much better it was until I tried on my brothers conventional grill surface and burned half of them.

Some of the funky new things we tried growing this summer like Kamo-Kamo and Tatutume really shone on the grill, turn all buttery

What is this device of which you speak?

These things:

Pretty good article on the pros and cons of the different types of grill surfaces here:

Not cheap, not super easy to clean, and you have to order them in, but the best barbecue investment I ever made

I feel the same.

I bought a small wire brush to get between the grates...works well.

A little background:  my older daughter has played hockey from grade1 up to her first year of university.  She loves the game.  Tonight, my wife took her as her guest to the banquet at a local Cardiovascular conference, because the guest speaker was...Hayley Wickenheiser.  The guy sitting next to her at the table was asking about her, and when she mentioned that she was a hockey player and fan, he texted someone on his phone, and then said, "When I say 'follow me', come with me immediately"  Apparently, he knew the cardiologist running the event.  As soon as Hayley finished her talk, he said, 'Follow me!' and took her right up to meet Hayley.  Got her picture taken with her, and Hayley autographed a Team Canada jersey that my daughter had taken with her.

Got one majorly happy kid tonight.

WOW!  Amazing for her!  It's so cool that she met a hero, and she was so approachable.

My daughter is a huge fan of professional free-skier and star of ski films, Leah Evans.  In the winter of 15/16 she got to not only meet Leah, but spend two days of private coaching with her.  It's still a watershed event in her life.

Yeah, when people meet their heroes, and the heroes are good people, it's great to see.

Out on the Ottawa River, just east of the launch at the end of Blair Rd.

I look at the night sky frequently...as I hang out after work outside, relaxing. Every now and then, I see something moving though the sky...satellite, space station...something.

So I found an app called Heavens Above that shows you when and where these man made objects will wiz by. Sure enough..it works! Watched several fly by last night...pretty much when an where the app said they'd be visible. It was neat!

So if you like that sort of thing give the app a try.

It is. And there's a mode where you point your tablet/phone at the sky and it points you into the general area to look

Happy to finally have this little girl in my arms - her name is Harriet. Getting her here was a bit of a nightmare for mom (24+ hours of labour, 4 hours of pushing, only to end up needing a c-section), but now that she's arrived it makes it all seem worthwhile (not to worry, my wife agrees!). She's definitely a big, healthy baby - 9 lb 6 oz!
