re: Focus RS , what's with all the argument over FWD?   it's a cool, fast Focus!!  20 years ago, people said 'oh 200hp is absolute limit for FWD', but they manage to make it work, (like 911's rear engine) so why the heck not?

How much is the RS power limited in 1st and 2nd gears as it can't get traction because it's FWD?  I believe it was up to 60% in previous versions.

Ford doesn't limit power in the low gears, well aside from the defeatable traction control. Mazda does with the Speed3.
With a limited slip and the Revoknuckle front end, the RS put power down like no FWD car from years ago.

The Renault Megan RS Trophy did the Nordschleife in 8.07, 3 seconds behind a Porsche Cayman S with Walter Rohrl at the wheel and well ahead of the BMW 1M that AutoSport ran in 8.15.

The last Focus RS that ran there did it in 8:26, the same time as the 335i and Audi S5.

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

On a twisty mountain road a rwd with equal tires will be superior.

Maybe in terms of fun factor, but lap times for GT-Rs and TT-RSs show that AWD rocks the dry track as hard as the wet one.  Still love RWD cars though, and I'd love to add an FR-S to my fleet.

I get that AWD has the ultimate grip, but I just like the feeling of RWD more....an FR-S would be fantastic but not doable for now....a 240SX with an SR20DET swap is in my future.
Lighten up Francis.....
