In the DTS, so easy a baby did it ;)

Charcoal is the way to go BTW...noticeable improvement in air quality, especially in the summer.

Do I need to remind you all that in order to change the cabin air filter in my car (Volvo C30) you have to DISCONNECT AND REMOVE THE GAS PEDAL?

At least headlight bulb replacement is pretty easy...

Remove the gas pedal?!?!?

Did they at least give you a stupid Allen key you'll never use again?

I've told this story before, but I'll tell it again since we're talking filters.

For the cars were I couldn't find an aftermarket filter and didn't want to pay for an OEM filter (some of the prices used to be bonkers), I buy the best furnace filter I could and cut it up into matching size for my cabin filter. I'd get 4-6 cabin filters from one furnace filter.

Easy DIY if you're ever in a pinch.

Hmm, weird. It was always super easy on the BMWs, a few screws over a plastic cover underneath the hood near the base of the windshield. 5 minute job.

That's probably the ONLY easily serviced item on a BMW...  And the most reliable, being nothing but a paper filter.
Oil filter was easy too. Right on top ! Same with the engine air filter, 6 screws and 2 clips.

I remember working on a friend's Civic, trying to figure out why an oil filter would be put at an angle in the undercarriage.
My Miata is even dumber.  The oil filter is mounted sideways off the block so as soon as you crack the filter, oil drips down onto the front crossmember.  Good thing the filter is tiny so the volume of oil isn't much.

too poor for those. I am happy with my upgrade over the Continentals, which were an upgrade over the Firestones, which were an upgrade over the Goodyears. Maybe next time, Blizzaks!

Oddly, my Blizzaks were significant cheaper than the equivalent X-Ices. But, I'm running 15" rims so it was about $500 all in   for WS-80s. I also expect to get 3 seasons use out of them.

I had a set of the first gen X-Ices. They were great.  I can only imagine the 3's are a big leap above them. If they were less expensive I'd probably be running them.

Blizzaks are usually cheaper.

X-Ice is going on my wife's urban dwelling car tomorrow.

Ya, my Blizzaks were cheaper than if I went X-Ice and I'm on 17's.

Just ordered a Denso replacement.

Yeah, I watched a video. Looks stupid easy.

The one in the Mazda5 was the worst.  It was at the back of the centre console and was two pieces that had to go together. I bet it took me a solid 45 minutes to replace it.

Really? Been a few years, but I don't remember it taking that long for me to do.  Maybe because I found it easy to reach behind there.  I don't remember having to unscrew anything.

There was nothing to unscrew. It was just two pieces that had to put together. And some trim had to be removed.

I'm pretty sure my damaged knee made getting in there a whole lot harder.

I tried to change the number of auto blinkers from 3 to 4 but was unsuccessful. I'll keep looking.

Boom. Found it.

I always thought that three blinks was one too few.
