Firebird had been neglected for awhile, so I spent a few hours on it today:
-Washed and waxed (including door jams and wheels)
-Stone chip touch up
-Replaced clips for air box
-Replaced bracket for driver's side mirror with non-broken one from scrapyard
-Replaced missing retainer clip on underside of rear bumper
-Greased the zerk fittings on the rear control arms (aftermarket)
-Resprayed the painted rubber side molding as the sun fried the old paint almost completely off.

Sweet!

Had my Miata e-tested so I could renew my vehicle registration.

As usual it passed with flying colours, but the stupid test cost me an extra $34 on top of my license renewal fee.

What a stupid sham this Drive Clean program is.  What would it take for the Government of Ontario to just scrap the whole pointless program -- or should I say, tax -- altogether...?

The people need to strike!  We refuse!  Drive around with dated stickers.  I remember buying the sticker, not putting it on right away because it was pouring like crazy, then finding it in my glovebox 2 months later because I forgot.   Guess the cops don't care.....

Forgot to post these.. this was done in June.

Got the front grille and running board Plasti-dipped in matte black.

I did the running board mainly to cover up corrosion issue on the steel part of the board.

Looks great carcrazed. I have my grille out in my Honda Odyssey for a transmission cooler install so I may dip the chrome part matte black as well before I reinstall.

Plasti Dip is extremely easy to use. Retailers like Home Hardware sell them from $19.99 for an 11 oz rattle spray can but you can get them in the US for under $10. One popular Plastdip online retailer is www.dipyourcar.com

I'm considering dipping my entire car, I have an electric sprayer suitable for Plastidip (needs to be thinned 1:1) and would cost me about $400 to spray my entire Honda Odyssey with a 15 mil and then some sort of glossifier or pearlizer top coat on top of that. The thicker you put it on, the easier it is to come off when you get bored of it.

Interesting.  But with $400 I could buy a front & rear bumper for my Odyssey.

Painted? Painting a bumper alone costs $300-400.

Not painted.  Primed.  If I bring them in to be painted, just the front and rear bumpers, $500 tax in to be painted.  I remove old ones, and install new ones.

Leather treatment on the TT-RS took forever. Much easier on the S2000 two weeks ago with no roof  ;D

Got new clear turn signals and parking lamps for the JK off the newer model. Install will have to wait as I need to sandblast the metal protectors at work tommorow. ...wife really likes the way they look.

Looks good with the updated clear lenses  :)
Question: what was the streaking under the old orange lenses, rust from the metal protectors?

Yup, it was rust. I took the protectors off, beadblasted them, used acid to remove all rust and painted them with rust inhibiting primer and rocker guard.
