What!!  :o  Noooo........... :'( :'( I'm so done with snow, and I've only used the snowblower, once, I think, this winter.

Given the current and future temps, a lot of it will be rain, and any snow should melt pretty quickly, so kinda like a Toronto snowstorm.  But still.

Did the wheel swap on kiddo's Accent this morning, so easy with small & light wheels, plus they're 4 lugs only! The GLS wheels dress it up quite a bit, and from the shakedown drive, the kijji set seems fine and balanced. The tires' previous positions were unknow, but they have even wear, two with 1 mm less thread, which were probably used in front the last time, so I installed the shallower ones at the rear, with a 50% chance of getting the right location. The Kuhmos aren't directional. These should be good for two summers, as collectively we did not even put 1 000 km in a year on that car!

They look good.  Stock Hyundai wheels?

Did her car come with only winter tires, necessitating the need for a set of all-seasons?

We are supposed to get 20-25cm of snow this week, so while I was tempted to change the tires on the truck,  I ultimately decided to wait.

Funny, that's what the article was called:

The forecast has since changed.  Looks like it's going to come mostly as rain:

One thing is for certain, the incoming moisture will impact our flood situation, which is not something we need at the moment.  Imagine trying to maintain social distancing while in a sandbagging line!

Yup, I love these oem GLS wheels without the extra chrome of the top-trim version (hers is a GL). We were holding off to find such a set - they're rare, only used for the last two model years of the top-trim Accent. The previous all-silver alloy model was used for four years and is a lot more common.

The car came with two set of steelies, one being the very rusty oems with worn-out crappy 14" all-seasons, and the other a new repro set, no rust, with winter tires at their winter wear bars. We used that set from the purchase of the car in April 2019 up to October, scrapped the tires and installed new Pirelli winters at Costco (lucky to find a good tire in 14" these days). The oem set was kijiji'd off.

The 16" alloys dress up the car quite a bit and added heft to the steering. Being an oem upgrade, they have the same overall diameter as the 14 inchers. Added new chrome lugnuts for sharper look, and later I will put in the NOS floor mat set I found for 25$.

It's my stay-behind car when I have pressies, so I want it to look good  ;D

Oil and filter for the Ridgeline and changing the transfer case oil. 100k on that stuff and it looks brand new.  Oh well I won't touch it again for another 8-9 years at this rate.

Snowing again currently so it will be awhile for that.

I learned that Royal Purple gear oil is actually purple, never gave it much thought before.  Actually it was very easy to see once it started dripping out of fill hole. I have never actually bought it before but it was all CT had in the spec I wanted.

My Lexus likes RP, and my Alfa is doing well on Redline. I did notice the RP helped cold shifting in winter.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

When I had my SI, people on the 8th gen forum were big on Royal Purple to help alleviate the crunchy synchros.

Since it hadn't moved in over 2 weeks, took the wife's car for a spin on the highway this morning.  On the way home, went to the local wand wash and discovered that to maintain social/physical distancing, every second wash bay is blocked off even though the bays are a good 15ft wide and separated by curtains.  ???

I didn't realize that car washing was a necessary service.

How did you find this site?   :rofl2:

Necessary?  It's essential!!
