I love that I got a new job so soon after losing my last one.  I hate that I have to drive into Toronto for (amazing and robust) training every day.  7 days down, three more to go.  Ugh - so tired.  I can't believe that some people do this every day, every week, all year round.  :shake:  And I've only got to drive 27 kms one way, which takes an hour.  Going home often takes longer.  Today's drive home at rush hour was a nightmare, thanks to heavy rain.

In case you're wondering, GO train to Union Station and back was going to be $18.00/day, and I still needed to pay to get to my final destination, west of Union.  Underground parking at the office was $12.00 a day, so I chose that route.  Non-expensable.  I can hack it for 10 days, but I'm glad it's almost over.

My normal daily commute as of Tuesday will be 18 km in the other direction, and will take less than 20 minutes.  And parking is free.   ;D

Similar to my wife's commute.  No wonder she doesn't want to move!

I was in the GTA over the weekend and I wonder how people do it daily more than once. My aunt does Burlington -> Union every day.. even with train it's 1 hour 20 mins if everything is synchronized like clockwork... EACH WAY. And now people are commuting from Guelph to TO? For what? When do people actually live their lives ???

I now walk to work, and the 6 or so minutes it can take sometimes feels too long  ;D

Just saw Manchester by the Sea. Don't fully know how to articulate why but I am really glad I watched it. Classic.

Kid got a text this AM, his friends had a get together last night (he came home this weekend - phew!) - and all 6 (or 6 of however many cars) had their tires slashed, 8 tires in all.  Sheesh...

This kind of :censor: is infuriating. Deliberate destruction of others property for what reason? For shits and giggles? Its not even a pet cause or political statement for christ sakes.

For these kinds of especially moronic crimes (the ones where its just "because it would be LOLZ") we should go with 30 or 40 lashes each. Truly.

I'm guessing kids were being shitheads/too loud at their get together and pissed off the wrong person. Unless it's just an extreme coincidence of random vandalism.

Still not right though....

Quite possible...he's never been to one of their get togethers...so they may have been noisy.  He was just glad he didn't go.  And if he does, I told him to take a taxi or invite a friend to go with and have him drive  ;D  Or just don't go.

Hope this guy gets life.

http://www.570news.com/2017/03/06/kitchener-man-accused-drunk-driving-pleads-guilty-deadly-crash/

Court heard that Darwish was travelling 214 kilometres an hour on November 27th when he crashed his car into the vehicle containing 29-year-old Susana Dumitru, her husband, her two-month-old son, and her mother-in-law. Dumitru was killed, and her son was seriously injured in the collision.

This was on a road with a 90 kph limit!

I don't doubt that the healing lodge could benefit this woman.  However, I don't feel her one month in prison is punishment enough for taking a family of four.

My much younger co-worker keep sending me links to car ads: Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Cadillac etc.

"A man of your age should drive something that announces his status in life."

Also: "I see you more as a Cadillac or Lincoln kind of guy"

We've had some interesting conversations.

Yep, at the Casino.  It will be my first music venue there, so not sure what it's like acoustic wise.  The Imperial Theatre is still my favourite local venue.
