CLS = 10.8 L/100 km
Cruze Eco = 4.7 L/100 km
Escape 1.6L EcoBoost = 7.9 L/100 km

That is all I drove so far.

What on earth was the rational for MB bringing the CLS AMG 63?

To me, the only people interested in this kind of event are likely fairly hostile to cars to begin with. Bringing this to the event seems to be MB thumbing their nose at the green movement, maybe not the brightest move they could make from a marketing standpoint.

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

What is a CLS doing with this group?  Good for you for getting it though....   ;D

I have the same question...maybe for when drivers get bored driving almost everything else??

I dunno...maybe to show a 500+HP car can get decent mileage too?

10.8L/100km ain't bad!!
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Hey AB, do you mean the Mini? There are no BMW's on the trip.

I am in the CT200h after the Panamera tomorrow.

The Merc is here as it is heralded as one of the most fuel efficient 500+ hp cars.  It has start stop and is more efficient than the old C63 (this is the twin-turbo 5.5L)

A local guy I talked to has averaged 5.2L/100km in his CT since he bought it.  Not too shabby at all!

The way we are driving I fully expect 4s.  If I can do it in the Cruze Eco it should be a breeze.

Oh for sure...you will be trying.  His number was just from normal driving over the lifetime of the car.

When you pull back on hwy 2 from the caa parking lot , there was a red  car behind you , I thought it was a bimmer
I miss you by that much

That was actually Gary Grant in the CLS, I was in the Cruze Eco by then,  Not sure which car it was, there were a few red cars.

Was there a couple of cruzes?
I saw a beige one with a Eco sign about 5 mins after the cls pulled out of the packing lot
If the doctor was no time ,  ::), I would have made in time

Mine was red, not sure about the beige one, but a lot of manufacturers had 'support vehicles'

I was talking to Jim Kenzie last night at dinner and during his stint in the CLS AMG he managed to average below 10.0 L/100 km.  :o

Today's cars:

Porsche Panamera S Hybrid = 9.7 L/100 km.  That was 100% city driving...the worse city driving.  We drove across Dundas from East Toronto (Bayview) to Oakville.  Jil McIntosh got 6.8 L/100 km in this car on the open road

Lexus CT200h - 4.0 L/100 km.  I wanted to hit the 3's so bad and came so close

2012 Kia Optima Hybrid = 5.4 L/100 km. It was a mostly uphill run from Hamilton to Woodstock

2013 Mazda CX-5 GS FWD = 5.6 L/100 km. It was Woodstock to London, mostly flat.  I was at 5.3 L until the final run on Veterans Memorial highway (up-hill, 90 km/h)

They should put hybrid in a Santa Fe, they could get a lot of press from that L/100km

The panamera is impressive. I'm impressed  by the cx5. Mazda is typically horrible.

Wing I think your post above needs a tiny bit more punctuation
