Has anyone use a paintless dent removal service?
« on: October 19, 2010, 09:44:23 pm »
While parked at the Buffalo airport someone dinged my drivers door. I would like to get it fixed using one of those paintless dent removal services. Can anyone recommend one or is this service snake oil salesmen?

can't recommend one in your area, but it really does work well, the wifes Xtrail was badly damged with hailstones a couple of years ago, $6,000 damage, they did the paintless removal and it was an excellent job couldn't see any flaws when finnished

If the dent is on the door do they have to remove the inside door panel or just do the magic 'dry ice' thing?

Worked well for me on my Infiniti door (aluminum).  I don't know who did it as the detailer brought somebody in.

They did not remove the door panel.

I used "paintless dent removal" a few years ago. I had a bunch of dings and dents on the Infiniti. They guy came with a suitcase full of different hammers. It was fascinating watching him work. He knew where to hit to pop the dent/ding out.

We have a guy from Barrie that attends our locations once per week to remove dents on trades and lease returns.  It's like the second coming of Christ.

Attend your area dealer and ask the service dude for their dent guy's number.  Although he may do dealer only cars which is how our guy works.  I'm going to Mississauga tomorrow to flog a 350Z ragtop that I've had all summer so I will ask for referrals.

Tony hasn't actually done any work for me, but I bet he's good.
He's a fellow racer, actually one of the best drivers I know, oh, and I think he's near you.

Just search your phone phone book under "dent".  There are a few places.  Dent Express, Dent Wizard, etc...They all do it the same way.

They're easy enough to remove yourself if you are concerned about damage. Mine come off in under five minutes.

Some have even used a heat gun/hair drier and cool spray.

This is a tough repair...

Had the Acura done last year. Had crap load of hail damage. Was VERY impressed. My insurance guy even can out to see it after it was done. He,too was impressed and will recommend this type of repair for hail damage.

I know a great guy. Has a Dent Doctor for almost 15 years now. He is in the northern part of Toronto. Don't know if it works for you location wise, but I can give you his contact info if you want to get in touch.
