Our GX has a cd player, currently has my slipknots greatest hits in it

Seems like a lot of effort for 2 songs.   ;D

One could just as easily carry a box full of suspension components back in the trunk

To give credit where it's due the current crop of Toyexus cars can read *.flac files so technically if a person can rip CDs or find these files elsewhere, it will be a lot more convenient than having a CD player, as one USB stick would hold thousands of songs.

Fender mounted turn signal indicators. For those drivers who never look at their instrument cluster or with the radio on too loud and aimlessly drive down the road oblivious to their turn signals being on!

Dual exhaust tips that actually connect to the exhaust and are not just decorative.

My '91 MkII Golf had programmable wipers... as in you could set the delay.  Press once for on, then again to set at desired delay.  Best part was, it was just a relay so you could grab one from any old pick 'n pull and upgrade yourself!

On the other side, Rain-sensing wipers are the devil... always too fast or too slow at the wrong time... you can toss them in the garbage IMHO.

I love my rain-sensing wipers, you can adjust the speed to your desired speed/frequency.

I retro fitted the hood vent turn signals that came only one year on the 2016 Mustangs. Probably the most unsatisfying mod on the car. I can only see the driver's side signal, but I guess my passengers can enjoy the other signal. Now, I only drive down the road obliviously with my right turn signal on!

100%, we own a car with one and I've rented a few cars with this feature, no thank you, at all, ever. I would rather not have to pay extra for the windshield just to have this auto wiper idiocy.

I didn't like them on my Mazda3.

Whatever happened to warning lights alerting you when a taillight or headlight was out?
I remember some Japanese cars had dashboard warning lights that would advise you of this on startup.
In the 70's (maybe even the 60's) some makers like GM put a fiber optic line from each of the tail and stop lights that ran up onto the insides of the rear roof C pillars. When the lights were on there was a tiny little red light for each rear bulb on inside of the rear roof C pillar that you could see in the rear view mirror - it was three tiny red lights on each pillar as I recall. When a bulb was out one of the rear indicators would also be out. I think that there was a similar yellow indicator for the parking light in front.
The C3 Corvette models in the 60-70’s had a bundle of fiber optic cables run from each light to a display down by the gearshift on the console.

That's usually handled in the MFD in modern cars.  The Golf has told me what light is out.  Which is nice, since I've replaced 4 bulbs (2 headlights, a tail lamp and a reverse lamp) already.

Some early 60s Dodge models had shift selector in the dash, interestingly this is now appearing again today, I can think of the Honda Accord.

I prefer the decorative tips.

Easier for an aftermarket exhaust change while keeping car "stock" looking.

The auto wipers on the first gen 3/5/6 definitely behaved better than the second gen 3/5/6. You need to have good wipers either way but the first gen system seems to work as intended 90% of the time while the second gen works 80-85% of the time.

Were 8-track tape deck ever standard in a car? I remember my dad put a quadraphonic 8-track in his van which I thought was super cool.
