I was told said "Mechanic" was a certain popular outlaw biker club member in good standing (to which I believe by his appearance and collection of bikes outside his shop) so I chose to let the issue be rather than stir up a hornet nest of trouble.

The wiring on the Innocenti is buggered so I acquired a spare harness from an automatic S model. Mine is the up level SE so it is missing a few things like power windows and rear speakers. I figured I would use it as a guide. I noticed mine is even more screwed. Here is the spare harness connectors. These are the proper ones.

The harness on the car has no proper plug blocks. With the spare harness I figured out how to connect but there are still a few wires missing.

Preparing to strip out wiring harness. I think I will try swapping in the spare one to see if that goes well.

It is actually pretty well and logically put together so far. The electrics are buggered but that is the fault of some previous owners.

Thankfully it's so simple. Still a PITA job, but could be worse.

The unibody looks in shockingly good shape. Are you going to keep it?  Honestly, I was dumbfounded when you presented this find, but the more I see, the more I like it. Going to be a very neat little runner. I'd totally keep it for buzzing around in.

The unibody looks like a two year old car - it is mint. Interior is decent. Electrical is pretty bad unfortunately - I had no idea.

I swapped on a spare fuel pump but did not work. Ordered an electric one.

Took out the harness. The two side by side. Mine was hacked up badly. :(

Behind the dash is roomy with no wiring.

I started swapping the spare. They aren't exactly the same but its hopeful. Since it is from an automatic I'll have to fool it into thinking it was in neutral to start the car.

Plans? No idea. Get it running and driving. Then see I guess.

Well the replacement wiring harness does not really work either. Interestingly the starter motor is always on (once I faked the transmission into neutral). Time for plan C or D or whatever.

Sounds like you have one hell of a wiring job on your hands now... I wouldn't even know where to start on something like that  :banghead:

^ Where's your sense of adventure?   ;D

But yeah... that task, I don't envy it.  I need blood pressure meds after trying to untangle Christmas lights...

^ same

And even though it didn't solve his issues, I'm impressed he was even able to find another wiring harness at all.

I got it off the guy how I bought the car from. He has a few spare parts as well as a very nice DeTomaso turbo version. He still owes me a set of decent tires as well.

I got a generic aftermarket fuel pump for the Innocenti since the three mechanical ones I have all don't work.

Since the fuel pump was not labelled as to which side was in I had to test it. Used the battery in the Tercel. It seemed to push a lot of fuel although only rated for 3psi. I wonder if I will need a regulator.
