Landing in Calgary in a few hours, on the way to Banff. Where is a good place to eat, nothing fancy?

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

DAMN!!!  family vacation or work?

in Banff or in Calgary?

you can pop by Canmore (on the way to baff) and there's some good restaurants there, too!  and you can hook up with heliDriver !  (if it doesn't snow, i can visit too!)

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

Falafel King is awesome, but it's downtown.

There's also a decent pizza place on Country Hills Blvd., which is sort of on your way. It's a chain, but surprisingly good wood-fired pizza: http://www.famoso.ca/locations/CountryHills.php

If I were landing in Calgary and looking for a bite to eat on my way to Banff, no way I would want to detour anywhere near downtown. Especially on a Friday afternoon around rush hour.

Just for TB's info, I wouldn't call Famoso "fast food."  There's better Neapolitan-style pizza in Calgary (Il Centro, down by Chinook Centre), but Famoso is pretty darned good. And it's a casual sit-down place, but service is pretty quick.

Other good restos in Calgary too, but I don't know any in the NW.

Have a good time.  That's where we had to settle for our honeymoon. Hamilton to Calgary, rental car (fusion AWD, unlimited km).  Not sure of the order (don't tell my wife), but did Canmore, Fairmont Hot Springs (1 week timeshare gift), Banff, Jasper.  Put over 2000kms on that Fusion.

Wanted to go to Aruba, but they way work was at the time, and the vacation packages, wasn't going to work.  Maybe for our 10 year.... Here's hoping we make it!  ;D  Halfway there so far...
