With even Toyota dabbling in main-stream turbo fours, it's looking more like they're the future.  Another reason I'd buy the V-6 Camry is that it might be one of the last NA V-6 engines in a regular car.

Yup. NA engines are disappearing fast. And I love the linear power delivery of a good NA V6 or V8.
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

Me too, but don't forget about the lowly I4: Honda sure made some NA beauties.

This is me.

Plus the sound. V6 and V8 over a 4 banger.

Call me crazy, but I'd love to pull the turbo four banger out of my GTI and put in a real engine.

It reminds me when I was young, my 2nd car was a used 1973 Plymouth Cricket 4 banger, 4 speed RWD. At that time, I had bought a complete Buick V6 231cu3 + AT GM200(?) to put it in but unfortunately, my father never allowed me to go ahead with my project car.. :nono:

WOW.  I'd take that 280hp aspro engine over a 300hp turbo unit!  9400rpm!  Love it!

Yeah, that's pretty sweet, isn't it? And it wouldn't even be that hard of a swap: the 2.5 came stock in plenty of Golfs.

Only problem is that I think it's around $20k worth of engine.  :'(  I wonder how much it would cost for, say, 220 HP and an 8,000 rpm redline? I could live with that, and would still take it over the turbo's rubber-band power delivery.

You can tune it out (as I did on the TT). I believe Angry Chicken said the power delivery how I had it set up was like a light switch. [emoji1]

Uh, yeah, that is an issue.  And here I thought the LS3s that people are cramming into everything were on the pricey side.   :o

Should be a more balanced handler with less weight over the Camry's over styled beak.

I think Honda is in a big glass house and ought not to throw stones when it comes to styling.  :rofl2:
I don't mind either...not beautiful. But interesting...modern.

I find the design modern and refreshing - love the sculptures around the side and the front design.

I think it's a good looking car.  The hood cuts off weird at the front, and like everything else nowadays because people walking, duh, it's a little upright looking for crash standards, I guess.  How 'bout just watch where you're walking so we can drive cars without ugly noses?  But...turbo 4, 6 spd manual, in a family sedan (that isn't German and might actually last well past your last loan payment)...and if it's under-rated (explains why my BIL's Civic 1.5 feels faster than 174 HP it has does), all the better.  I'd bite if I was in the market, but then my car is (un?)fortunately adequate to carry me through the duration...if it and I live 'til I'm 80 that is.   :P

My only real complaint is the awkward front end.

Manual and turbo 2.0L? Yes please! :bounce:

As long as Honda is installing that stupid 9-speed in things, they have no where to go but up transmission-wise.  Honda's a little hit-and-miss lately, but the Accord is a solid package.  I'm a Camry slappie just for the V-6.  I'd take the base V-6 over a loaded I-4 in that car for sure.  The D4S V-6 is a thing of beauty, even with a slow-shifting AT.

With even Toyota dabbling in main-stream turbo fours, it's looking more like they're the future.  Another reason I'd buy the V-6 Camry is that it might be one of the last NA V-6 engines in a regular car.
The 8 speed isn't that slow shifting..

If it is like the one in my RX, it has lousy programing.

It up shifts too early and then downshifts in light acceleration.  I drive the RX in sport mode to get rid of the problem.

My only real complaint is the awkward front end.

After seeing a test drive you tube I'd say the front is slightly horrendous.  :D   But in this instance it's only fair to wait and see it first hand.  Could be an optical illusion.  ;D

The added functionality of a lift back would have elevated this new Accord.
The full across chrome insignia at front truly reminds me of the "Acura Beak" problem
Repeating itself.  The attempt at rear "C" lights look very much like a committee decision.
What happened to character design?
I get AWD not possible when 'TLX' is concerned but lack of it does not impress
if going after premium market.

Not as bad, surely. But definitely not good.
