couple cool little tricks... but i just don't see it being something that warrants selling in NA...

i also don't see many people who could use a truck opting for a benz version around here... most people who know trucks know that even the domestics make some pretty high end ones that won't get laughed out of the country club *or* the work site...
i used to be addicted to soap, but i'm clean now

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

If they forgot the Nissan thing and brought one out based on the GLS there might be a market. Think upscale Ford Explorer Sport or Honda Ridgeline....sort of a luxery faux truck
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

Yeah, I'm with you 100%. If I needed a truck to haul around a bit of potting soil every now and then, the Ridgeline is the go to. Is this for the people that wear $500 hiking boots to walk their dog around the block??
Lighten up Francis.....

This isn't really aimed at the North American market, and could very well be sold alongside Sprinters and other commercial vehicles. It's not necessarily going to be a premium product anymore than a Sprinter is a premium product.

It is for ppl who drive a truck and have some spare "change". I don't believe I'm saying this but I like it and suppose it will sell well in... Texas and Alberta  ;)
Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach the man to fish and he wakes you up at 5 in the morning.

This would work in Texas and Alberta:

Or the sillyness that is this:

That concept is more for the mean streets of the GTA or Vancouver.

What Sir O showed would sell well here.....I could see this being a hit with the urban cowboys in the GTA or LA.

high end realtor... convinced they have to portray a certain image, but don't want to put muddy for sale signs in the back of an suv/sedan... plus a few items for staging and such...

but yeah... i think oliver is right, where this isn't meant to be a higher end luxury truck... just a nice one to join the commercial fleets... just a guess.

This is a joint venture with Nissan/Renault, and based on the Nissan Navara, what the rest of the world gets instead of the Froniter.

Renault's version is the Alaskan (concept shown):

It doesn't look like any of them will be coming to NA anytime soon.

Maybe they can bring them to Canada, but with the truck import tax  it makes it hard in the USA

They may still offer more luxurious trims, but then again, all the trucks on the market do.

This is low-risk new-market experimentation for MB.

Little cost to them as far as research/development/testing because it's on an already established platform (Nissan).

MB likely has low expectations as far as sales go, and if they only end up selling a handful of these to high-end ski resorts to shuttle people from the heli-pad to their chalet then they're probably fine with that.

I don't mind it when companies explore options in their line-ups as it means choices for consumers which, imo, is never a bad thing.
