Jon riding off on the dragon would have been too fairy tale to me.

I did predict Jon would kill Dany, but I didn't predict much else.

It is a fairy tale !  ;D

Yeah but it's not a ponies and princesses fairy tale - it's dark and gritty.  A happy-happy-joy-joy ending would not have fit the tone of the series, IMO.  I'm just glad it wasn't all dragons dead and Cersei and Jamie ruling all.  This ending was a reasonable conclusion - not everything came up roses, but good did triumph over evil.
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

Bran is the anti-king. He looks like he's just going to let his management team do all the work and he's just going to sleep through the whole thing.

  :rofl2:  Funny, but true.

Yeah. I mean that scene where he comes into the council meeting, asks a couple of random questions, then figures he can locate Drogon by himself, then tells them to carry on and leaves... We couldn't have dreamed of a more "hands-off" king. He is obviously not the micro-managing type.

It is a great ending for the Starks. Sansa queen of the North and Bran king of the 6 kingdoms... Until they get voted out I suppose, or another tyrant comes to claim the crown.

To be honest, I still expected Bran's eyes to turn blue until the final credits, as if possessed by the Night King. That would have been a nice cliffhanger, not all fairy taley and rosy with ponies, care bears, hugs and kisses..

I guess not. We'll have to wait for the spin-off to hear more about the white walkers again.

Jon is off to be a Wildling!  I didn’t see that coming.

OT - if anyone wants to see an exceptionally good representation of the use of a fortress as a weapon of defense against an enemy with overwhelming numerical advantage, check out the Netflix flic The Great Battle - Korean with English subtitles - depicting the historical siege of Ansi.  No, this isn't some dry documentary - it's a rocking action flic, but one in which the tactics of siege warfare have some grounding in historical precedent.  Some fanciful components, but not nearly so much as to invoke a chuckle, must less repeatedly scream WTF?? at the screen.  ;D

Thanks! That was very entertaining. I remember watching 'The Admiral - Raging Currents' when it was on Netflix and being similarly impressed. Koreans seem to have medieval war movies down
