Wow, some truly epic road trips out there!

The trip Rob and I did last summer in the 'Maro probably ranks up as my favourite -- it was just such a "lets get the car and go" kind of adventure, and the car, destination and route home were better than I expected.

Last summer I also did the family vacation in the Jag:  http://www.autos.ca/car-test-drives/road-trip-2013-jaguar-xf-3-0-awd/

The previous summer I did the circle of Superior which was awesome too:  http://driverblogs.com/en/Reviews/2/2/546/1/Circling+Superior+in+a+2013+Ford+Mustang+GT

Seems this summer I ought to do a road trip in a Challenger -- the third of the modern muscle car trifecta.  Hmm…

The longest trip that I've ever done were the Montreal - PEI trips.  Of course, I've done it eight times, mind you.   ;)

My longest is a drive from Kingston to New Orleans in my old 911.  The starter quit in Toronto, I said screw it and we bump-started for the next week.  Had planned on replacing it when we got there but the Mississippi had flooded that year and electrical bits were in high demand.  Bump-started it all the way back home too.

Two major trips: Solo -Montreal to Jasper (gas only stop from Mtl to Winnipeg), was a 3 day trip
Solo -North Fort Meyers (Florida) to Toronto, stopping only for fuel and drainage 26 hrs.

did it once from PIE to Toronto, didnt plan to go non stop but till Montreal it was easy so we decided not to waste money on motel/hotel.
After midnight torture began when your eyes on fire and you have to stop on all gas stations on 401 only because we left shortly after noon and trip ended at 4 am
drove to PIE with stops in Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec city, Halifax, Cape Breton, PEI
perfect car for that was SAAB 9-5

trip Amsterdam->Cologne->Lucerne->Monaco->Nice->Avignon->Lyon->Strasbourg->Luxemburg->Cologne->Amsterdam in 4 days was pretty easy in Citroen DS5

would love to go to Vancouver but not sure if Mazda3 will be wise choice for such trip

A trip to Vancouver will give your Mazda 3 rust inhibiting powers.

Europe is the place to drive.  Later this year we're doing the Florence -> Cinque Terre -> Piedmont -> Milan -> Florence loop.

Is it on its last legs? Otherwise, can't see why you couldn't. I drove my Protege5 cross country twice and it had no issues and the Mz3 rides a little softer.

My semi-Annual run from Riverview, NB to Les Cedres, PQ, little better than 1000kms, is my longest straight run without a stopover. Should be more this summer with the new toy.

Seems this summer I ought to do a road trip in a Challenger -- the third of the modern muscle car trifecta.  Hmm…
