2023 Ineos Grenadier
« on: September 29, 2021, 04:19:20 pm »
The Ineos Grenadier SUV to Land in U.S. in 2023  London automaker to launch Land Rover Defender look-alike

Quote
If you haven't seen an Ineos Grenadier in the metal just yet, you're not alone. The London chemical manufacturing company-turned-automaker isn't quite finished with its first big project, the Grenadier, but it's well into 1.2 million miles of preproduction testing. After development is finished, Ineos has big plans to bring its Land Rover Defender look-alike to North America by 2023.

An important part of bringing a car to the United States is to find a dealer network. In a roundtable discussion with Greg Clark, the company's head of commercial operations in North America, said Ineos is evaluating dealer networks right now to determine a partner to sell the five-seat, two-row SUV. But, he said, it could work with more than one here in the States when the time comes to put the Grenadier on sale.

Defender clone, I wonder if this will ever arrive.

Honestly I don't see the point in bringing this over here unless it is an EV of some sort.

If there is one offroader that I'd like to see come to N.A. It would be the Suzuki Jimny.  If you could get one of those fully loaded for around $30k it would be a big hit.

Holy fack, that does look really good.  Kind of a 90's Taco look to it.  At that price I'd be okay with 250HP and 300kms range, maybe 1200lbs of payload and 5,000lbs towing.

?? Oil demand is going to peak in 2035 and then slowly decline. Diesel is going to be around a long long long time.

i don't think diesels makes sense any longer, at least in passenger vehicles...hybrid systems are much less expensive to equip and offer real world fuel economy savings without the emissions nonsense that plagues diesel vehicles.

Iveco should revive the Massif (which was an evolution of the Santana PS-10, which was based on the Land Rover 110).
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

For a lot of people who lease, that would be affordable. There is a plethora of leased vehicles worth $90,000 in this city, and it's possible that some individuals may own them. While I concur that spending $100,000 on a car seems unreasonable, However, considering my location, I doubt that I'll ever come across one. Lol.

Well, a fully specced out Rubicon is well over $70k and that dollar store Defender copy is $100k, this is way more capable than the LR, should be way more reliable and its as cool as the Wrangler. I could see this being a status symbol purchase.
Lighten up Francis.....

You sure about the reliable part?

A niche vehicle built in France? What could go wrong? LOL [emoji38]

Well yeah, of course that would be much better than anything on the market but Toyota thinks its too good for this market.
