VW Golf Trendline. Not much you can add though :/

Actually stopped by the dealership after closing just to see inventory.

I also checked out the VW site for the three door Golf. Basic info, but not much more.

I've been thinking about a two door car. I drive my 94 year old Father around a lot, and he has difficulty getting in and out of vehicles because he can't swing his legs into the footwell past the forward door pillar. I'm thinking a two door would have larger doors and may give him more room. The back seat is never used in my car except for groceries, so I have no need for a four door sedan.

There's a Ford dlr in Wpg with 10 GT350's - $5500 off...only $68g for the cheapest one.

Not really "build and price" but more of a "what else is new out there?" so I stumbled over the pictures of the 2018 Skoda Kodiaq Sportline.

Obviously not available in North America, but it's the (new) Tiguan's sibling. I really like it from the side and rear-end; better looking than the Tiguan in my eyes. The front not so much, but not bad either.

I wish this was the Tiguan as it looks as a possible option for my next compact SUV in few years. The rear end of the Kodiak reminds me of the BMW X3 which is a good thing for me, plus the rather big rear-side windows and straight hatch (good for cargo) would be appreciated.

The pricing for Alfa Romeo Giulia is now available on the Canadian site.

It starts at a whooping $49,000, which I think is quite rich after seeing the car in person at the Auto Show and compared to the established competition from BMW, Audi and MB - this is for the pedestrian, base Giulia not the 500hp Quadrifoglio.

I very much like the car but not worth the price IMO. It will be interesting to see how the market will receive it though.

I don't know how FCA figured the pricing with the currency rate. For the US, the basis price 38 k$US. It's also as if they simply took the USD - CAD exchange rate of +30%.

Built a US-spec Ti model out to 47 k $US. Don't care for 19" wheels but you have to select them to get summer tires....

"Mine" ended up at $57K CAD before tax, but inclusive of fright and fees: Ti AWD w/optional 10-spoke wheels ($500), HID ($1,000),  dark blue ($700) on black/tan interior.

EDIT: Just noticed they have financing available for 96 months ?!  :o

LOL... would the car even last that long?

Yeah, they're certainly not cheap. I wonder what kind of deals can be had once they're more readily available.

Times have certainly changed. Mind you get much more car today...but back in '88, my brand new '89 LX 5.0 cost $18,000. Lotta money in '88 for a kid.  Wonder how that adjusts for inflation.  New GT's were what, $23g?  And mine was loaded - air, cruise, tilt, PW & PL...no air bags (one year too old), no TC, no nothing.  And that was as loaded as you could get it (far as I can recall)...4 whole options - LOL...and I thought I was doing good. It's loaded!

Pretty sure a Mustang is not in my future unless my kid buys himself a new one and maybe I can buy his '13.  He'll end up making more than I ever did so that's my in.

$18k in 1988 would be about $32k in 2017 according to the Bank of Canada inflation calculator.

Those notchback LX 5.0s were awesome. Used to be quite a few clean ones around but I haven't seen one in a while.

I seriously considered buying one in 1990, but I bought a new 1990 300ZX instead, for almost double the amount of the Mustang.

I should have bought the Mustang.

I dunno, the 300ZX was pretty sweet, too.

Plus what else? When I build a GT Premium with Perf Pkg I get $49848 + tax. Or was that including 20% in tax?

Because of all the discussion about the VW Golf, I went ahead and configured a facelifted one.

It doesn't mention that cheating software is included though, perhaps this is extra charge in Germany (in true German fashion).

@35 k€, rather pricey (although price includes 19% USt.), and I was rather judicious on the options. But I can't say no to upgraded LED lighting, basic navi, 17" wheels, moonroof, and a few other features.
