I have this ancient New Yorker K with a running Mitsubishi silent shaft 2.6 4 cyl that would make a good beater rally car. Bonus points would be earned because it talks lol.
i cringe when the 2.6 is mentioned...what a disaster that timing chain was (not so much the chain, but the guides, which often caused noise and failure).

It was a dandy engine. My Grandpa had the original Caravan with this engine. What was so catastrophic was the chains that failed (the balance chain) also drove the oil pump. The lump in grandpas van lasted just over 100,000km before that happened on their annual trip to Arizona.

Are those wheels correct?  They don't look right to me.
Jeep snowflake alloys are correct for the Country package

Certainly not my cup of tea, I think they're ugly but period correct so they stay.

On a Jeep YJ Renegade, they look awesome with 35+" tires....theres a guy around here that has this combo and they look great. My dad had gold snowflakes on his 91 Limited  :hurl: :hurl: consider yourself lucky

Ok, cool!  They sure do look out of place/too delicate on a Jeep, though.  I guess that back in the day, it was the thing.

that's what happens when you put a 40 foot chain in an engine.  :P

New set of 18" Chevy Z71 wheels. Larger wheels make these old Chevys look great imo.

Very nice! I love that truck! Are you using that as a replacement for the Yukon you were thinking of selling? I'd probably be tempted too...

Nope...just another one I have to sell before we move, going through it fixing a few little things (door pin replacement is a PITA) Next is the noisy a/c compressor then I think she'll be all sorted out.

that looks like a proper off road truck, unlike the recently reviewed RR with large rubber bands for tires on it.

So the gazillion mile Caravan (sitting at 629,700 now) had it's first major issue. Yesterday brought our first decent snowfall, seems the van did not like. Every Time I'd press the brake pedal all the electronics save for the lights would shut down, heater, radio, wipers, all gone. Turn the van off and restart all was fine again...until the brake pedal was touched. Spent a bit taking stuff apart, at first I figured it was in the ignition switch area as there is a loud click when depressing the brake to release the shift lock. All in there looked normal enough so I was left to think again. Figured it had to have something to do with moisture, so I checked all the fuse panels which all turned out dry. While under the hood I noticed this van has a few extra wires running about for a command start (I have no fobs for it but the blue light still blinks on the dash so it must be connected) Anyway, I yanked the wire off the batt post and all is well! Very odd...

My son just informed me it did this to him too, during a rainstorm, no wipers so he just left it at home and borrowed mom's truck. So definitely moisture and command start related. Oh well, it's fixed, put nearly 10,000km on it now and one oil change is all the money spent so far!

This is the 2005 X5 4.8is. Day 2 and I've put 140 km and nothing has broke. What a nice driving vehicle though, BMW does make a sweet sounding V8 with power and torque all over. It'll be "found on the internet III" soon, Johngenx has made me scared to even start this thing lol.

Had this vintage Chevy pickup....a 1999, hard to find in a simple regular cab 4x4. Had it all of two days before a good offer came along. Was a "Grandpa" truck in amazing condition.

Exactly the form factor I like. Even the topper.
