Our research disclosed a Rolling-PWN attack vulnerability affecting all Honda vehicles currently existing on the market (From the Year 2012 up to the Year 2022). This weakness allows anyone to permanently open the car door or even start the car engine from a long distance.

With them being this easy to steal I wonder if insurance rates will be affected?

How about Lexus, they get targeted regularly?

Believe Lexus is just the regular repeaters and what not, and sometimes old fashioned mechanical entry combined with hotwire via the OBD port

Here pushbutton F150s have been the choice of car theft rings

Interesting. Friends of ours had their 2019 CR-V stolen from their driveway a few weeks ago.

Last week we had to pick-up our daily rental at port once we docked in Juneau, Alaska. I followed the instructions, and found an unlocked Chevy Uplander (not a typo!) with my name hanging from the rear-view mirror and the keys above the driver's sunvisor. Theft ain't an issue when there are no roads in or our of town!

The push button issue is huge across the the industry, since all you need is a repeater - buy a faraday box and you are protected, I’ve had a few for years…

The vulnerability described in the article is unrelated, which means anyone with a $100 radio transmitter could crack execute the GitHub code & open a Honda, without the keys in sight!!!!

Others might also be exposed, but I have only seen Honda being called out so far.

Then again the battery's dead, you can't even get it into neutral with a dead battery, key or not.
Also, Whodafuk wants to steal a Fusion!?  :rofl2:

If it has a dead battery, it's a cold Fusion?

Interesting.  Thieves access the CAN bus through the headlight wiring to steal a Lexus
