Happy new year / UPDATES RULES (Please Read)
« on: January 03, 2013, 09:17:32 am »
Happy New year everyone.  Autos.ca would like to wish everyone on the forum a Happy New Year (and those just lurking as well).

For 2013 we are going to strive to make your forum experience even better.  Below we have outlined a few new guidelines.   As it is impossible for us to read every single post on the forum we are also asking you to please click on the "Report to moderator" if you see any of the below violations.

There will be no warnings or discussion on these rules.  The delete key will be used without warning if we feel that it warrants it.  We DO NOT want to moderate the forum like a kindergarten class.  Members are encouraged to voice their opinions and / or facts in a civilized and adult manner.  We are NOT stopping you from voicing your opinion but broken records will be thrown out.

·         If you want to call a vehicle/brand/trim a piece of junk and the worst thing ever created?  Fine.  If you continue to do so with no reasonable contribution to the thread at hand, or any rationale on your opinion of said vehicle/make/model/trim, you post will be deleted.

·         If you say someone is an idiot, troll, stupid (or anything negative) for thinking a specific make/model/trim is junk, your post will be deleted.  You can fully disagree with their opinion, but no personal attacks will be tolerated.  Example – “There is no way the Cavalier is the worst car ever made” is fine. “You are a complete moron for thinking the Cavalier is the worst car ever made” is not.

·         Continue to abuse these guidelines, and suspension and bans may results.  But we are all adults on an adult site and the last thing we want to do is have to moderate this forum like an elementary school classroom.

Thanks for reading and Happy new year!

I would like to BUMP this up to remind everyone that NAME CALLING and personal attacks are not tolerated.

BUT -- we will not be banning people because they like one brand over the other.

BUT - Blatant "trolling" to get a rise out of others may be deemed as a personal attack.
