I wonder if the FD wheels are made by Enkei?  The hollow spoke OE Miata wheels are and they're strong and crazy light.  So many owners poo-poo OE wheels, but they're some really nice ones out there.

Actually, my favorite RX-7 is FC(second gen). Thanks, Initial D.

After watching that show i had a brief fantasy of owning an Ae86

I had two of them, both coupes. Great little cars. Loved that 7500 RPM redline.

A lot of family cars have pretty heavy OEM wheels, while sports cars usually have very light ones. I believe the R3 RX-8 19" wheels are about as heavy as the 18" ones on other Series 2 RX-8 trims.

They are $500 a piece, though. Personally, if I ever go 19", I will go with a set of Mazda M008 rims. 22lbs is not too bad for 19" wheels.

Now imagine revving to 9000 RPM!

7500 RPM is actually considered low for RX-8. That's the redline for the AT models.
