Left Turn Signal Light ON while pressing brake
« on: December 12, 2017, 02:24:49 pm »
Hi,

I have Pontiac Vibe 2006. My car's Left Turn Signal Light turns on when I press brakes (It is very random, does not happen all the time, and there is no pattern as well). Any one has a clue of what could be the problem?

Thanks in advance

Likely a glitch in the wiring in the module that controls your car's lighting functionality.

I had a similar issue in my old MINI Cooper where the reverse lights would come on whenever you hit the brakes. It turned out that the body control module located in the driver's footwell was corroded and had to be replaced.

Check all of your bulbs, could have a burnt out bulb somewhere.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try these. After doing some search on Google, some people have mentioned Turn Signal Swith/Multi function switch issue, so will try to diagnose that as well.

Plymouth Volares used to do that all the time.  Faulty ground in the trunk.   It was as common as Honda owners driving at night with no tail lights!

Thanks everyone!

Faulty ground in the trailer wiring harness was the issue. Removed the trailer wiring and issue resolved.

Thanks
