What a joke! 23 min video is overkill for exterior/interior clips only.

Kia's current lineup looks good. Somehow, I still feel branding needs to be improved. The name 'Kia' suggests economical, fun cars. The logo may be improved as well.

Like the logo on the Korean market Optimas?

I'm interested in the new 2017 turbo Soul and will probably take one for a test drive when they hit the dealerships sometime this year.
It would be a great replacement for my wife's old 2003 Chevy Tracker, if I can ever convince her to sell it.

What engine will it have, 1.6T? In that case perhaps a NA 2.4L Sportage ought to be considered. Better bang for your buck IMO.

it will be a 1.6L turbo putting out 201 hp and operated through a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.

Thanks-I've been able to find all the specs for the 2017 soul online.
The only concern I have with the Soul turbo is I may not be able to tow my small utility trailer with the DSG tranny and for me that would be a deal breaker.

Looks good! Nice improvement over the previous version. Looks like a Golf in many ways.

Bah. It'll suck.  It's only got 130 hp so it'll be as slow as that Corolla hatch... :P It needs 8 more horsies to compete with my POSONIC.

Wouldn't it be fun if Kia stuck the Elantra GT engine in it... :o O0

but it's still competitive in the sub-compact segment (a Corolla hatch is a larger vehicle and heavier)

2018 Rio - 130 hp (they reduce the top end hp to provide more hp at the lower end)
2017 Rio - 137 hp
2017 Yaris - 106 hp
2017 Fiesta - 120 hp
2017 Fit - 130 hp
2017 Accent - 137 hp
2017 Sonic - 138 hp
2017 Versa Note - 109 hp

..................................
2017 Mirage - 78 hp

That's much better! Resembles the Lexus 'L'.

I agree that HP in itself doesn't mean much, take Miata e.g.
HP/100kg of the car's curb weight would be a more valuable measure IMO.

it actually originated from this logo which was only used for a brief time.

I was being a tad sarcastic.  Auto writers get to drive/own high HP cars so everything else feels slow.  My Sonic is absolutely fine with it class leading (har ahr  look at that!) 138 hp...it's super fun in the city, and it'll do 120 mph on a good day...sorry, 199 kmh/kph (?). Surprising really (considering how much it actually weighs).  It's plenty fast & quick enough for anybody.  Do I want something more powerful? Absolutely! (holy hell my kids 5.0 is amazing - who would want/need for more than that!?) Do I need it? Meh...not really...I'm sure the Rio is fine as is, with it's likely unnoticeable 8 hp less.  I wish my car had 20+ more horses...but I'd be down to V8 Mustang mpgs l/100's then...so then why not drive a Mustang.
