Still my fave Cadillac - a good looking vehicle inside and out.  Yikes at the 6-figure pricetag, though.

Some pretty big praise for the big Caddy! It's a looker, that's for sure... and sounds like it's worth the 6 figures  :o

Caddy is offering some serious discounts on the 16 units:

For a vehicles that probably have been in dealer stock since mid-2015, they certainly should.  That's the type of deal I stepped into with my Genesis (2015 model purchased spring 2016).  You can certainly maximize the bang for your buck in a new car purchase that way.

The CT6 came out last spring.

The CT6 is incredibly unpopular in Canada. Only 250 sold last year.

I like the look of the Caddies, but one of the issues I have always had was their atrocious deprecation, a couple of buddies who owned CTS's  took a bath on them when trading them in.....  are they still as bad as it use to be or have they gotten better?

Depreciation is pretty atrocious across the luxury sedan category.  Caddy may be extra-atrocious - I've never shopped them used so I don't know.

Extra atrocious is good for the astute buyer.

Plus for these specialty machines usually the number of option packages and stuff is pretty limited so the selection of used cars is pretty homogenous in a way ... makes it a bit easier.

Complaints? The CT6’s size gives its identity away more than its looks, with numerous friends asking ‘which one is that?’ in reference to the generic Cadillac appearance to the thing, which Cadillac says is intentional.

IMO, the exact thing could be said about Audi, MB, and BMW.

That's the whole idea, though. You're selling a brand, not a car. More true with luxury makes than with mainstream ones.

I agree. I was disagreeing with author describing it as a "complaint" about the CT6.

Great review. Great car. I agree that these are probably a tremendous used value. Purchased new, however, for my money in this segment, it would be difficult to buy this over an S8, Tesla, or Panamera, for a very simple - if trivial - reason: the XL-sized rear door of these LWB cars really throws off the proportions, as it does in the 7-series, S-class, and A8L.

In theory. The base RWD model is $97,300. The outgoing model starts at $89,500.

And the Panamera 4 starts at $102,700, but in fairness to the Platinum-trimmed CT6, it likely comes comparatively stripped.

Yeah. These cars aren't directly comparable IMO.

Edmund's long term test of the Lexus GS led to 1/3 drip in Value in 18 months.  It is pretty much part for luxury, even Lexus.
