It was a high mileage pile of poo that I bought really cheap (cheap even for me). Ran and drove but body wise rusty. I chopped it up and was going to use the frame under the world's worst Honda S600 as a funky hot rod. Ran out of time, talent and money sadly. The Honda was truely awful as it had seen duty as a drag car in the 70s - someone crudely stuff a Chevy V8 in it and the axle was welded solidly to the frame. Sold the Honda as a parts car. The Toyota drivetrain went to another and some of the small parts sold to others. I still have a few bits of the Toyota. Made a small profit on the Toyota and a small loss on the Honda. Such is life.

just found out about these guys.... :o

Delta Integrale x3, Alfa 155 Ti-Z Zagato [one of 20!], a fully done up Larini 155 Ti DTM replica, 2 [!] SZ Zagatos [stupid rare], and a Lancia Thema 8.32 with the Ferrari V8.

when I am back in country, I must pay them a visit in my humble 155 V6 LE...

I might have found a new importer for my next Alfa

The Zagatos may be rare, but boy are they ugly.  The pre-catalyst Thema 8.32, at least from the factory, was only about 0.4 seconds faster from 0-100 than the Thema Turbo and the post-catalyst version and the Turbo had the same time, but the 8.32 cost a lot more.  I am sure that tuning could squeeze much more out of the Ferrari V8.

yep, no argument there. "Il Monstro" certainly was ugly, but that is part of it's charm for me. So ugly it is interesting. Certainly not boring. Drove damn well and sounded fantastic with that 3L Busso V6:

As for the Thema 8.32, yeah it was not really any faster than the turbo. But it sounded a hell of a lot better at least:

Shame no pictures of the engine. This thing would be a hoot with 120hp or so. They weight almost nothing. Price seems cheap.

The add-ons probably doubled the weight of the car.

I even like the colour.

And check out the list of mods...yikes.

-DSS heavy duty axles (brand new, never installed)

Yup, I'd think that might be a good deal with all the go-fast stuff added in.  Now...where am I going to find $40 Cdn...

Or, 3rd Marauder in the last month.  This one's in AB instead of US.  But, I wonder if it isn't over-priced.  Though the other two seem to have disappeared rather quickly, so maybe not?  US examples are higher priced than the other two. Just not sure a supercharger is worth $10-15,000 more on this car...being used.  Anyway...
2003 Mercury Marauder Supercharged $25,000
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/calgary/2003-mercury-marauder-supercharged/1301958644?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
...the previous owner had a Trilogy Motorsports super charger installed bringing the HP from 302 up to 460hp.

OTOH you can get a 2007 Merc Grand M for under $3000 US in nice shape...and supercharge it, or Hell Cat swap it (or Coyote if you want to keep the family bloodlines pure...and cheaper.  Maybe a Cummins  :P).

The silver car is the pick for me.  C4S with a stick and what appears to be a loving owner.  It's not a super-special car, and priced like a base C-Class, I'd put some snow tires on it as DD it year-round.  Early 997s are bottoming out now, and I don't see them selling for under $40K.  Good time to buy - they can be had with low kms and in immaculate condition and you could drive it for 5 years and recoup the purchase price.  Service is expensive, but not horrendous.

^I've seen a few in the $32k - $39k range as well... mostly 2005's which I'd stay away from because of the potential IMS issue. But I agree with you that their price point seems to be down that the bottom right now & like you said it could be something I'd be able to drive for a few years & re-sell for what I paid. I still love my 951 and the damn thing turns heads still (don't think these 911's will get the same reactions), just might be time to move on from it & onto something else... like rrocket said at some point, life is shot & it would be great to own a few interesting cars in that time

Or this one that had it's engine replaced in 2014  http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Porsche/911/MOFFAT/Ontario/19_10391953_/?showcpo=ShowCPO&orup=4_15_33

The 2005s aren't worth the savings from a 2007.  That 2007 C4S is still the pick of the litter imo.

The $120K guy needs a new bag of crack as his has gone bad.

^^Agree, but the 07, 08 and 09 997.1 units still have the IMS bearing issue unless it's been replaced.

All M96 engines are IMS issue engines, but the 2005 997s seem particularly prone to blowing up.  No idea of why.  I know there is an engine number cut off, but not sure what year it was in.
