What's a CT6 (I'm being facetious), and did GM adapt Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive (except in a longitudinal layout)?  That's crazy good power out of a 2.0L.

Disappointing combined fuel economy/performance figures in isolation, but together, and with that kind of power, that's incredible!!  This will be very interesting, though I'm interested to see how much interior space is left - never Cadillac's strong-suit.

This caught my attention:

"the motors are built into an electric variable transmission".

Is that 2 motors, 1 transmission ?
I wonder how that level of integration will affect servicing.

Really liking this CT6. Just a classically handsome, full-size American car. It's got a character line here or there, sure, but no "flame surfacing" or any of that other Commie Art School nonsense (tongue firmly in cheek, channeling Lebowski Sr. here, who needs to replace his aging DTS and whom I've convinced to skip the XTS and wait for this one to hit dealers instead.)

It seems GM is using Voltec powertrain (originally developed for Volt) across the model lineup. That would suggest a planetary gear-set type of tranny. Besides Volt itself, IIRC the new Malibu hybrid (non-plugin) is another car to use it very soon, with pretty good FE numbers.
P.s. Love the car.

P.s. II  The battery will likely cut into the trunk space, but it's better than having it channeled across the cabin I suppose.
