In that case, Cayenne is always the answer.

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/ottawa/2004-porsche-cayenne-turbo/1319016940?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true  only $6800

What could go wrong  ;D

I'll see your old Cayenne and raise you one 1989 LaForza.   :rofl2:

Hi everyone, sorry sorry, i wasn t expecting so many answers so quickly. Thanks a lot. Really thx ;D

Well i was going for a 4x4 suv because i m keeping it afterwords. It seems easier in everyday life on winter.
I believe renting a car would cost me the same so i would rather buy one..

So to sum up i should go with a toyota (rav4, hignlander or camry ) and find the nicest one
I wouldnt say no for a chevrolet tahoe 1999, actually i would love one, but would you really find it more reliable than let s say a jepp from 2008?

The Jeep models you're looking at are not very reliable.

A Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix in AWD are reliable too from what I remember.

We had one, they are a bit smaller than the others being discussed, on a Corolla pan IIRC.  AWD was underpowered, but Toyota reliability.

Yea, that's what I understood.

They seem to run forever.

Speaking of which, maybe an LS with an off road option?  :P

^^Yup, a Pontiac Vibe/Matrix would also be an excellent choice. My Sister has hers still - a 2005 with 300K on it now. Looks mint.
Of course, the 1st gen Ford Escape with V6 Auto is the sentimental favorite and should be high on your list. There's also a ton of them out there for spare parts and lots of small garages can fix them.

It s impressive how everyone seems to agree on a Toyota.
It s like "just buy a toyota, any toyota, and get on the road" 😎
Well after a quick look up on kijijj, in my price range, the most i found are the highlander 2005 and the matrix 2005 (one of them will most probably be my final choice)
For the rav4 there is only one or two...
Just wondering, what about ford ? It seems to be a good choice for crossing the US
there is a 2007 ford explorer 4x4 for 3900$?

3 people? I wouldn't want to spend that much time in a Vibe/Matrix with two others and all our stuff. You need the Tahoe  :D

Whoa the OP came back!

I think I’d go Highlander out of those choices. It’ll have room for the three of you to stretch out.
