I love this update - brings an ageing, niche player into the realm of desire.

That engine has a ton of promise - can't wait to give 'er a spin and see what the fuel economy judges have to say about it.  CVT is unfortunate, but Nissan's been making them better with each generation.

I love the styling, the interior looks lovely (especially loving the cross-stitched seats - not exclusive to Infiniti, but still, very nice).  Loving the alcantara accenting.

Honestly, I would push the wife into one of these to replace the Fozzie if she'd ever let me.

+1.
The Fozzie-schmozzie thing needs an upgrade :)

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

That's neat.
However, I can see higher-than-normal repair bills in case of an accident.

Chaos hasn't pooped in this thread yet?

I was following a QX30 (I think..) last night.  Looked very nice to my eye.

Looks really good, but I don't like that they switched from a RWD based AWD to a FWD based one.

Meh, this looks like a better solution than having to replace parts on your car

Lighten up Francis.....

I checked these out a while ago when scouting out 5-door hatch things, just to see what was out there.  I found parts of the interior felt cheap.  And the salesperson didn't know it was built in England...
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

Mrs. Railton and I attended the 2019 QX50 unveiling at Oakville Infiniti last night. With upscale free finger food, excellent wine and valet parking it was a cheap date for us.  ;D
There was unfortunately only one of new QX50 to view but we did have ample time to sit in it and try it out for size and of course, no test drives were available. :P I was looking forward to trying out the new variable compression motor.
Initial thoughts are that this new QX50 is certainly a looker inside and out and even though 2 inches shorter than the outgoing model there is more cabin and cargo space available. Dumping the old 3.7 V6 for the 4 cylinder unit, turning it sideways and adding the CVT tranny I guess has allowed for the additional room. Head room also seems impressive for back seat passengers even with a full length glass sunroof. The info stack looks right out of the Q50/60 models so I guess it's either a love or hate thing with people. I expect the suede trim inside sure isn't going to stand up to your dogs nails unless they are regulated to the back. It looks nice when new though.
I put our names in for calling us when they get a model in for a test drive. ;)

Looks like a nice evening.
Any idea about the towing capability of the new engine?

The car has been blah-ified.
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.
That makes me feel angry!

Yeah, no more 3.7 V6 grunt - just 4 pot turbo and magic crankshaft. Hope it at least sounds better than the four pot Mazda 2.5.
A few more iphone pics added.
