heated steering wheel? I can easily live without it. Would rather the manufacturer put effort into the chassis, transmission, and engine rather than yet another added comfort feature. But that is just me.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

I used to say I could live without basically everything except A/C and powered door locks and windows.

...until I got heated seats, Bluetooth, steering wheel radio controls, a backup camera.

I mean, hell, I'm still without most of those in my Mazda, but it bugs me all the time.  Especially the lack of heated mirrors all winter.  I don't have VSC or any sort of traction control.

This morning, I stopped at a stop sign, then went to accelerate normally.  There was a tiny patch of black ice (oddly) on an otherwise dry road.  I didn't see it, and the front right wheel spun compared to the left and the automatic tried shifting into second (it was the appropriate time for same).  The noise my transmission made...I could have done without.

I'm sure no damage, but gah, it'll haunt me for a few more hours until I forget it entirely ;D

Luckily one has nothing to do with the other.

While I miss my Mazda6, none of the features do I really miss.  I don't miss the heated seats, I don't miss the bluetooth (although I did add it to both vans, mostly for my wife).  I think I would miss steering wheel audio, and heated mirrors.  But I can't remember the last time I had vehicle without that.  Maybe the 05 Odyssey LX (no steering audio)

Right. Because research and development and engineering cost decisions  usually come down to either chassis / transmission / engine development or else a heated steering wheel.

I definitely had the same dismissive view of  heated steering wheels until I had one.

Yep.  What's impressive is that the base Kia Rio now comes with one.  Should be standard in Canada, along with heated seats.

never said that - effort could mean money, but it could also mean choice for content within a price point, etc.

any temp below body temperature "feels" cold...i know they don't likely get -40C temps there, but even 0C is cold.

The interior actually gets pretty chilly.  BC just isn't Vancouver.

Thats true I guess.  But lets have some fun, and really derail this damn Accord thread with damn heated steering wheels and outdoor temperatures.   I present Kelowna vs COTU temps!  ;D

Am I the only person that is okay with wearing gloves?  Seriously, the heated steering wheel is not a big deal.  I'm also of the mind a seat only needs to be heated if it's leather (or a leather substitute).

The thing that bugs me is all CVT equipped Accords come with remote car starting capabilities from the factory but no remote start for manual drivers.  That affects my comfort a lot more than wearing gloves to avoid a cold steering wheel.
