Yeah. They're the same cord.

I posted to the VW TDI Facebook page and a member has offered to send it to me for the cost of shipping.

Not too see if anything was damaged. Debating dealer or indie.

I know it’s probably cold and snowy, but shouldn’t be too much trouble just to follow the wiring back and check for damage? If nothing obvious, then I’d just plug it in and see what happens. You’re probably fine.

My wife drove off in the GTI with the block heater plugged in a few years ago. No receptacle on the GTI’s bumper, just a 3-prong plug on a cord that sticks through the grille. The plug was just about severed, but barely hung on by a wire or two. I spliced it back together and wrapped it up with electrical tape. Doesn’t look too pretty, but it works. I plug in the car all the time and haven’t set it on fire yet.  ;D

I'll have a look at it in the day light.  For sure I'd have to crawl under the car.  And I'm not sure if there are any under body panels in the way.

I've got ramps you can borrow if needed, or a couple floor jacks as well.

Damn it, Ken, you beat me to it :(

I dunno if it'll help, but I take some microfibre cloths (used ones) that are bright yellow and drape them over the trickle charger when the Fozzie is plugged in so that the wife won't drive off without unplugging it.  I also put one over the windshield to make it incredibly apparent.  I think I may laminate a card to stick on the driver's door that says:

"UNPLUG TRICKLE CHARGER BEFORE DRIVING OFF"

...with a picture of a unicorn.  That would get her attention.

Yesterday the MIB system started acting up.

I first noticed that it was slower than usual to boot up.

Then the screen became unresponsive, it was not responding to touch inputs.

After 30-60 seconds or so it began registering all is the previous touches I had done in quick succession. After that it sorta worked but lags every now and then.

And now it's back to normal.  I'm sure that's the last I'll hear of that.

Does VW do OTA updates? Built-in LTE for that? Might’ve been updating or even recently updated at dealer and you caught it in the middle of applying the new firmware. Or, because FGC.

Didn’t you recently have a mini-meltdown about the term ‘FGC?'  :stick:   ;D

The 2015 doesn't have OTA updates.

I brought it in to have a trim piece repaired and the update done. Apparently the part they ordered was faulty.

It hasn't done it in a while so I'm not in a rush.

Also got a brief "put car in park" warning that appeared and immediately disappeared.  The forums mention something about a shift sensor being a common cause. We'll see if it comes back.

So the guy I’m dating who lives near Saratoga NY drives a 2007 Jetta Wolfsburg with over 200,000 miles on it.  Had to get it inspected and e-tested the other week.  Check engine light turned on a few days prior.  Car wasn’t overheating, was running fine, etc.  He was worried it would be pricey.  I said ‘it’s probably the gas cap.’  Sure enough, that’s all it was.  A quick cheap fix, passed emissions with flying colours, and good for another year.

My old 850 pulled the same thing.  It’s in great shape for its age and mileage.  There’s a little surface rust on one of the front fenders, and one of his kids messed up the passenger side mirror, so it’s being held together with duct tape, but the thing always starts, runs, and stops safely and reliably, and has never left him nor his ex-wife stranded (the Jetta was his car, she got to keep the 2016 Pilot in the divorce since his daughters live with her).

Welp.  After two and a half years and 60k km the FGC curse finally bites.

The auto up on the drivers window stopped working

maybe just a faulty switch??...should be an easy warranty fix.

Hasn’t happened to me, but I’ve heard of this.

Might be an easy 5 second fix: https://www.vwgenuineparts.co.uk/vw_auto_window_function.shtml
