I did the same this weekend,  shoveled in and shoveled out.  Good exercise eh?!

Well, at least it's not Calvin peeing on something!
And it's hard to tell with the tailgate down, but while Fob is "nuts about trucks" - he thankfully doesn't have any "truck nuts"!

^Nice.

My BIL builds timber frame homes.  We are getting him to make us a nice thick mantle out of fir for our fireplace in the basement.  He's also going to make us some floating shelves for either side of the mantle also.

Nice. The fir slabs are nice... expensive too. This is cherry which was cheaper than fir. It's 8 and a half feet and we need 4' 6" for the mantel so we're thinking about making a table with the rest. I think these 'live edge' sticks are all the rage... priced like it anyhow. It's fun to think about the retail price of these large trees.

Really....we were just in Windsor Plywood looking at a new garden door. Did not see the big pieces of wood.

The Windsor is S'toon is similar.  Large slabs of wood on display, great customer service, and yes, haggling is accepted  :)

Way off topic, but if anyone is interested in timber frame products, below is the BIL's website. He builds other projects besides homes, including gazebos, some furniture, etc.  Its worth looking at some of the pictures on his website, some amazing homes.

I've picked up laminate flooring 3 separate times from that Windsor, they've been really good to deal with.  Didn't know haggling was an option though!  Probably only for wood...

Speaking of truck boxes, picked up a half yard of sand for the kids' sandbox and sandbags on the weekend.  That turnover ball gooseneck hinge is really slick, but it's a pain with sand/soil in the bed.  Flipped down the ball, gorilla taped a garbage bag over it, then put some plywood over top.  No biggie so far.  But then shovelling/sweeping the damn sand out was a pain, always going around the hitch.  Ended up scraping the bed liner with the shovel too...oh well, that's what trucks are for!

A pic of my empty but well worn truck box.  I've contemplated getting a spray in box liner, but really, do I care what the inside of the box looks like (kinda do I guess if I'm thinking of it)?  It's not going to rust in the time that I own the truck.

^I had the same internal debate and opted not to spend money on a spray-in liner and instead bought a bed mat made from recycled rubber for $95. It's a half inch thick, shaped to my truck model and works great. Beyond protecting the bed, it's grippy so it reduces cargo moving around and significantly reduces noise, which surprised me.

Hmmm, thanks for the input.  Grippy would be good in some instances, however it is nice to be able to easily slide items to the front, hence the scratches  :)

Which bed mat do you have?  Weathertech?
