Monday was garbage and compost day in the neighbourhood.  I saw the truck collecting the compost bins across the street, don’t know what they did, but there was a pile of compost on the street about 3 feet high, they were shovelling it into the truck.

Wednesday, on the way to work, saw the same truck and two guys in another area, the garbage bag they picked up tore apart, and they were shovelling up the garbage into the truck.

Never saw this happen before, and suddenly twice in two days with the same guys.  I bet they had a great week.

In the parking lot of my gym: a greenish yellow Datsun 240Z

I was 7 minutes late buying one of those a long time ago...damn I want one still.  Not sure I'd fit, but I guess it'd give me a reason to try to drop under 200...again.

On my way in, there's a guy who has had one of these since must be new...and it still looks minty fresh today.  Pretty sure it has a small lift, and it has more off roady tires too...but it looks sharp as a tack. Same colour.

Yeah. Always thought it was weird they sold it in the us an not here. I feel like it would have done well here.

I think it would have needed AWD to do well here.

A fellow in the building across from me has been commuting in a 1936 Chevrolet sedan. Looks pretty original.

Saw a load of new cars on a transport carrier this morning and four of them were Tesla Ss.  No idea where they'd be heading as there is no dealer around here afaik.  :-\

An older Peugeot 307 jump starting a Toyota Avensis in the employee parking lot.

Had to think about that a moment- expected it the other way around. That said, some of the Toyotas sold in Europe 10 years ago weren't so great.

Speaking of diesels, I was behind an F-PACE diesel today. Made me wonder what the diesel take-rate is for Jaguar models that offer it.

That would be interesting to know. Mercedes SUVs had a pretty high diesel take rate (in Canada), but they generally had a good reputation for oil burners.

The Colorado sounded pretty macho. It suited the truck, I think. I generally like the Colorado/Canyon anyway.

Mercedes used to break it out in their sales releases. I just looked at three random ones that came up on Google in the 2014-2015 time period and it ranged from about 60% to nearly 80%.

I doubt Jaguar is anywhere near that though.

Looking at the Halifax dealer's inventory:
- 4 of 12 F-PACEs are the 20d
- 12 of 13 XEs are the 20d
- 1 of 1 XFs are the 20d

For sure. I see them on occasion in New England and it's a nice little package. A bit unfortunate that they hampered its success by only offering it with the four cylinder.

There's a silver 1st-gen Audi SQ5 parked a few blocks away, which I pass on my way to work most mornings. It would be a pretty forgettable looking S/Q5, except this one is lowered, and it looks amazing. The drop is maybe 2 inches - no idea if it's on springs or full coilovers - and it looks like the ideal height as wheel gap is pretty much eliminated without looking slammed or "hellaflush".

As I've probably posted on here in the past, I often wonder about the pros/cons of lowering a sporty CUV - if the suspenion can handle it and what the downsides are, if any. Given the price premium placed on comparable wagons, a used, lowered CUV seems awfully intriguing.

Went to dealer to get an air filter for my RX-8, and saw 2 RX-7s on my way out. An FC convertible and an FD.
