Nice work!

What are you thinking of as a replacement?

I was waiting for the new Rav4 to come out only to realize that I don't fit in it.
So far a used RDX is looking the most promising.
???

the new RAV4 isn't some tiny subcompact though.

I could see how that can happen
I was not comfortable in the last generation of RAV4

I'm guessing seat travel is the issue.

Maybe if you're over 6' you don't fit in a Toyota?  They had a booth at the home show so I sat in the new 'rolla hatch - it's quite nice in there, and seats are comfy, and I'm just shy of 6' - but I probably measure almost as much around  ;D :P.  My son sat in a Tacoma, he's 6'2" and his head was almost touching the glass of the sunroof.  Seats did not appear to have any adjustment up or down, he no fit.  The new Rav4 is fugly anyway.  Why park something in your driveway that Pontiac's old designers are out facking up the looks of?  Get a G70 w/AWD.

The Avalon is an exception, but all Toyotas have scant seat travel.  They've done it forever and they are not changing.  :P

Now that I think of it the thread title is innacurate. I meant for it to be a winter vehicle but ended up driving it year round.

You didn't say where you live...so I guess technically it could be winter year round there.   ;D

What gave you trouble?

Was just listening on youtube to the issues with timing chain driven internal waterpumps, like on the Ford 3.5/3.7 (also the Nissan VQ V6 and the Subaru  flat 6)

Just to end this thread, the Edge will be gone within the next two days.
Nice vehicle with poor execution of a few main components.
Replacement?

Everyone I know that's owned an Edge has had a myriad of issues with it, just junkers IMO. Though they do drive alright when not broken.

interesting...we were looking at the Edge when we bought our Sorento...we liked it, but the Edge ended up costing about $7k more and didn't really seem any better, so we went with the Kia instead.

Yes, me too. Especially the AWD issues, even when working it barely does anything.
If I had to do it over again I would have bought something else.
It's unfortunate as it's a comfortable and spacious vehicle.
That's to bad - I wouldn't have expected that with a Ford product. The Escape we had was a great vehicle and we kept it for 14 years and had 275K on it.
