I don't know what AWD I've got in the RL, but its been absolutely fantastic during the winter. Pretty good in the summer too, gravel, mud, sand, it does it all aside from the questionable tires.

Have you towed with yours?   What I don't like with the ridgeline, and probably this one,  is the claim they are rated for 5,000lbs.  There's lots of forums with owners blowing up transmissions after testing the limit.   I know it's not a toy hauler but if you rate something to tow, make sure it actually can.  Love the ridgeline and pilot but glass transmission IMO.  I believe the updated 9spd is better but not sure.

They are only rated for 5000 lbs. if equipped with a factory tranny cooler.  The 9 spd is from ZF.  The Honda unit is quite different.

I know first gen with Honda 5 speed is fine towing up to the 5000lb limit.
Second gen 6speeds if related to the RDX ones I would be wary of?
Second gen 9 speed? No idea how it holds up to towing.
Second gen 10 speed related to the 9?

Either way I wouldn't tow near the limit with the Ridgeline regardless. Maybe 2000-3000 lbs but no more. Towing is still not it's forte.  ;D

Yes I believe the   6speed and first 9 spd had issues the new one are supposed to be good...

Think too if you tow the rear axle oil change interval gets pretty short, 24,000 km or so

Wasn't it normally 3500 lb for a trailer and 4500 lb for a boat?

I have the 5000lb towing package on my Passport, it was dealer installed, included the hitch/receiver, 7 pin wiring  harness & the transmission cooler. Also some pigtail cables to wire in a brake controller, but I never bothered with that... yet. I only towed my boat with it & a utility trailer, no issues with that, but at most I was around 3000lbs.

I never bothered with a brake controller in the Frontier either.  Boat comes in around 5000lbs but it's got surge brakes so no need for controller.  It's likely the heaviest thing I'll tow with that truck anyway.

My buddy used to haul his 26' cruiser boat with his gen 1 Pilot...lol   He kept it docked at a yacht club and only had to tow it twice a year to and from storage, but it was a good 40km run each way.  Not sure what it weighed but way more than the Pilot was rated for.  He drove that Pilot right into the ground too, probably owned it for well over 10 years.  Not sure what he drives now but wouldn't be surprised if he bought another one. ;D
