Ford Maverick
« on: January 21, 2021, 08:54:04 am »
Crew cab only for Ford Maverick. https://fordauthority.com/2020/12/ford-maverick-pickup-will-only-be-available-in-four-door-configuration/

Interested to see what this looks like, not just spy shots. Was hoping for a 2 door version with a regular box.

I liked the 4 cylinder version's  of the older compact trucks but don't think I would buy a 3 cylinder.

Never heard of the Maverick Pick-Up truck.  Is this going to be a truck built with Bronco styling, kinda like the Gladiator?

Sounds like it slots in below the Ranger.  Engine choices are an I-3 or I-4.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

No, this is a unibody pickup below the Ranger, on the same platform as the Bronco Sport.

Oh.  But Why?  I didn't realize there was a market for these things.  Especially from a company who not too long ago said the Ranger was superfluous, and that everybody who wanted a small truck would just buy a base F-150!

It may be a niche market in the NA but there's also a global market for this product.

I could see if they gave it a fold down rear bulkhead and a fold forward front passenger seat, then it would be a great suburban 'get stuff from Home Depot' vehicle to haul lumber in and whatnot

Don't see the point of a small box tacked on the back otherwise, like the old Sporttrac

Has Ford fired everyone who remembers what cars they made?

A Maverick is a car, why make it a truck?

A Mustang is a pony car, why make it a  CUV?

What's next, a Pinto minivan? ???

Are you being sarcastic ? Not sure. I guess I 'm the  only who would want one, a smaller pickup.

Would have to have a box on it though that you could put something in.

Similar to what I have now but 22 years newer.

I think this will be a decent truck for light duty.  I think in a few years here will be two offerings in this category, Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz.

I'm just wondering the price and the capability.
